The Life Cycle of a Frog

a "life cycle" is the series of changes that an animal, plant or person goes through in their life!
To begin a the life cycle of a frog, the female frog lays hundreds of eggs which the male then fertilizes.
Many of the eggs get washed away by wind and rainfall, so only a few get fertilized. A layer of jelly protects these eggs - together, they are known as the spawn.

After a few days, we hatch out of the eggs - we are called tadpoles!
We grow bigger and bigger to become froglets!
Froglets are very different from tadpoles - they have fins, a long tail and gils on their body to help them to breathe.
They eventually lose these gils but develop hind limbs!
I will then develop lungs for breathing. My tail gets very small and then disappears!
The frog then enters the adult stage.
The frog is now fully grown and the life cycle is complete!
We now know all about a frog's life cycle - thank you for watching!
