Chapter 1-

The Bad News

Luciana Vega was riding in her parent's car on a nice, crisp day. She was to excited to listen to her music on her headphones. She was driving to Space Camp! Space Camp announced that they had big news. Luci was talking to her parents about everything that it could be. Even her sister, Isadora, seemed to be listening!

'' What if they are going to make new space modules? What if we get to see a rocket launch! What if-'' Luciana was interrupted. ''What if the sky falls and aliens come to invade Earth!'' Luciana's Dad joked. '' Dad,'' Luciana said,'' I do not think that would be good news!'' Luciana giggled. Luciana daydreamed about the situation. She imagined herself walking in, and finding a new virtual reality module. Luciana sighed with delight. Just then, they pulled into Space Camp. Luci jumped out and ran to the door. When she walked in, everybody was excited. A minute later, her family walked in too.

Soon, a man in a suit walked out and said that the announcement would be said in 5 minutes. Luciana couldn't wait one more minute. She saw her friend, Raelynn. She walked to her best friend in a a very happy way. They talked to each other about what it could be. '' What if we get to do a robot competition! Red Rovers would have to win!'' Raelynn marvelled. Finally, 1 woman and 2 men walked out.

'' Today, we have some big news,'' the woman said. '' So here it is. We are going to move. We are moving our camp to North Carolina! We are gong to have a camp twice the size!'' Everybody cheered. Except Luciana Vega. Her family wasn't going to move to North Carolina! She had to stay here, in Virginia. She had to stop going to Space Camp. Her excitement drained out of her.

Chapter 2-

Oops!

As Luciana drove home in the car, she tried to hold back her tears. How could this happen? She was so excited, and now, she was about to weep. They drove in silence until Luciana's Dad spoke up. '' Honey, we just can't move to North Carolina. I know your upset, but we have jobs, friends, family, everything here. We simply cannot move.'' Luci had to admit it. They couldn't

Luci walked to her parents. They had a sad look on their face too. '' Sorry, Luci,'' her Mom said. They walked out to their car, as Luciana Vega took of her beloved star necklace.

As Luciana walked out of the car, she stopped in her tracks. She got a brilliant idea! What if she convinced the people at Space Camp to stay? She ran inside and got to work. She wrote signs that said stuff like '' This Space Camp has memories!'' and '' Space Camp is better in Virginia!'' She drew many pages of Space Camp. Then she had to go to bed. She jumped in bed and hoped that her idea would work.

When she woke up the next morning, she asked her Mom to drive her to Space Camp. When they were there, Luci jumped out and went inside. She held up her signs and drawings. She hung up drawings all over the walls. '' Space Camp, at Virginia! Stay, stay!'' she yelled. People walked into the room and saw her. Some kids went by her too and held up signs. After about 10 minutes, almost all the kids were holding up signs

Stay, stay!

Virginia!

Soon, all the kids were holding up signs. Even Raelynn! Luciana was happy, until something ruined the whole thing. She stumbled over a table, and she fell! The people came to help her, and she had to go home because she twisted her ankle. Luciana was sad once again.
