the love of a parent is known as the stronger

force in the world.

but sometimes it isn't strong enough to save

your own child.

around 800,000 people die of suicide each

year.

one person takes their life every 40

seconds.

and suicide is the second leading cause

of death among young people.

One in three students think about

suicide or self-harm in

Australia every day. .

these statistics are devastating,

and shocking to some.

But as a teenager, these are not shocking

to me.

we as children ,growing up in the 21st

century, understand what its like to be a

constant war with society.

therefore we know what it is like being at

constant war with ourselves.

society has told us that we are lazy

attention seeking drama queens.

but little do they know, often this is our cry for

help.

we as a society have come to a point

where youth suicide or self harm has

become a norm.

we need to change the attitudes we have around

mental heath and strengthen our awareness

surrounding mental health.
