Dedicated to The Carbon Cycle

Photosynthesis
Mr. Cloud observes as photosynthesis brings carbon into the environment. Plants take carbon from the air and use it to make food, through the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide and water. Photosynthesis in plants generally involves the green pigment chlorophyll and generates oxygen as a byproduct.

Respiration

Mr. Cloud watches, as Mr. Koala consumes producers and undergoes cellular respiration. Respiration is the chemical process that organisms use to attain energy from their food. The process of respiration releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The carbon released into the atmosphere is then used in the chemical reaction of photosynthesis.

combustion

Mr. Cloud floats over the process of combustion. Combustion is the burning of ancient plants and animals, that have become fossil fuels, for example, coal. Humans impact this part of the carbon cycle, as they burn fossil fuels for energy, which releases carbon oxides into the atmosphere.
