US Government Storybook Project

I know about Enumerated, Reserved, Concurrent, and Denied Powers.

Hey, John, I am taking a United States government class and need some help. Do you know anything about the United States government?

Can you tell me what those are?
Sure, why not?

Enumerated Powers are those given to the national government.
Okay. I think I understand, but can you give me an example?

Sure, Sean. An example of an enumerated power is printing money and having a postal system. That's why it's called United States Postal Service.

I know what Enumerated Powers are now, but what about Reserved Powers?

Reserved Powers are powers given to state governments.
Is issuing a driver's license a Reserved Power?
Why, yes it is. When you get your driver's license, you will go to the Ohio BMV. Conducting elections is another Reserved Power

I was right!

Next, we will learn about Concurrent Powers.
Are those powers that neither the national or state governments have?

No, those are denied powers which we will learn about later.
