"Mars tugs at the human imagination like no other planet. With a force mightier than gravity, it attracts the eye to the shimmering red presence in the clear night sky." John Noble Wilford

For many years, humans have been fascinated by the planet Mars. We've made quite a few scientific breakthroughs but have yet to put a man or woman on the planet. After years of research and some advanced technology, NASA was finally able to launch its first ever manned mission to Mars. It was supposed to be a short mission in which the crew would collect samples, take pictures and video, and learn as much about the planet as they could. That's not how things played out however.

"Great work Spacely . We've collected a lot of minerals and other elements that may prove useful to the people of Earth." "This was an amazing excursion. I hope we get to come back one day. We've barely scratched the surface on learning about the many wonders of Mars. Let's load the shuttle and get out of here. The dust storm is really starting to pick up." Cogswell replied. "Will do. Hey it's too bad we didn't get to meet any Martians while we were here" Spacely joked as the two astronauts boarded the shuttle.

BARRON ENERGY INDUSTRIES LTD.
"If it isn't Mr. Wang and Mr.Chung. Welcome gentlemen." "We came as soon as you called Mr. Barron. What's this big business deal you wanted to discuss with us" Chung asked. "It's about Mars." "What about Mars?" Wang queried. "Technology has allowed for us to send astronauts to Mars for the first time. in our history. They have also brought back some incredible specimens that may benefit mankind. What I'm proposing is that we cash in on the bounty of resources that have yet to be discovered . But we're not going to share our findings. No, no. We're going to get even richer!" "Are you sure about that?" Chung asked. "Look at how successful I've made my Daddy's company. Trust me. I'm never wrong."

CENTER FOR OUTER SPACE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

"There is so much potential in these samples the astronauts brought us from Mars. We could be in the presence of materials that might help fight diseases, feed the hungry, or save the environment. But at what cost?" "I agree Dr. DeMento. While these samples may provide answers to science's greatest questions, we have to wonder if they were really ours for the taking? What if there are some forms of life on Mars? It wouldn't be fair to take precious resources from another planet. We have be logical rather than emotional." "Excellent point Dr. Detroit."

WORLD NEWS TONIGHT WITH PEARL JAMM

"Good evening. I'm Pearl Jamm and this is World News Tonight. We start with some breaking news. Billionaire Entrepreneur Doyle Barron has announced that he will be funding his own mission to Mars. Mr. Barron why do you want to explore Mars?" "Well I've always had an interest in astrology. I'm a Gemini." "That's your horoscope." "Oh, right, I meant astronomy and was encouraged by what the astronauts found on their mission to Mars. I'll be sending my very own highly-trained crew to the Red Planet to look for even more natural resources." "And then?" "You'll just have to wait and see like the rest of the world."

Barron's crew worked long and hard on Mars. The working conditions were unbearable as the men were exposed to bitter cold winds and furious dust storms. Despite all of the obstacles they faced, they were still able to extract most of Mars' natural resources. Barron wasn't quite sure what he had amassed during the expedition but he knew that could potentially be the richest man in the world. Doyle Barron never wanted to help the people of Earth. This mission was all a ruse for him and his family to become even wealthier and more powerful.
