Once upon a time...
in a kingdom far far away.
A girl with shining silver hair lived out in a small village. She was different, everybody knew that. She never wanted to be like the other girls and that was okay. She loved herself.
At night she liked to sit on the roof of her small house and just look up in the sky filled with millions of stars and the moon.
She did not need much to be happy, she felt free.
A girl with shining silver hair lived out in a small village. She was different, everybody knew about that. But she was happy. She never wanted to be like the other girls and that was okay. She loved herself.
One day, a lonesome rider arrived in the small town. “I am looking for a girl with shining silver hair!”. Everyone in the village looked at her. “I am the girl you are looking for” she said as she stepped forward. “I have an important message for you from the king.”
They entered her house. The girl sat down on a chair, overwhelmed that anyone like the king could ever notice her. The rider gave her a coiled parchment with the royal seal. With shaking hands the girl opened the parchment:
The survival and the peace of this kingdom depends on the survival of the moon. But a dark force has nearly killed the spirit of the moon. Only a girl with shining silver hair can save us all, because she was kissed by the spirit when she was born. Go to the east, to the lighthouse that marks the border of what we know. An old woman is waiting there and will guide you. But remember, time is running out and if you fail our future is uncertain.
She looked up, hoping to see that it was just a dream. But it was not. The rider was still there, trying to hand over a backpack with everything that she needed for her journey: “We need you more than you think.”
At dawn, the girl left the village with a compass in her hand. On the way through wide meadows and dark forests, over high mountains and deep valleys. East, always to the east. Day and night, day and night, day and night.
She reached the lighthouse that sat enthroned on the rough cliffs after six days. She looked at it with respect. “The farthest point anyone has ever come. But my journey will take me further than this.” She could not deny that she was afraid.
The girl had heard the stories of the old lighthouse keepers: Creatures of the depth were supposed to live on the edge of the horizon. Terrifying sounds that keep every living soul awake at night.
The girl took a deep breath. She knew that only her bravery stood between her and the rescue of the moon and her world.
A glaring light from the top of the lighthouse blinded her. She lifted one arm to shield her eyes. A cold breeze made her shiver. She was convinced she heard a whisper, but it only could be the wind.
She held her breath when she saw a shadow coming down from the lighthouse. She could not move, it was as if she became the stone she was standing on.
The shadow came closer, the silhouettes became clearer.
A old woman with a wise expression and long white hair appeared. “You must be the girl I have been waiting for so long, the savior of my friend the moon.” The girl looked at her. She did not know what to say.
The old woman hung an ancient looking necklace around the neck of the girl. She still did not know what to say, she could not believe what happened.

“My darling, take this and complete your mission. Let it guide you and bring light into the darkness.”
