I woke up knowing today was the day. I am leaving Russia tonight, no matter what. I have lived in Russia my whole life. It's all I've ever known. I might not get a chance or courage to do this again. I know I want to leave to have a better life for me and my beautiful daughter, Anastasia. We are not needed here in Russia. I want my daughter to have more opportunities as she grows up. I want her to feel needed and enjoy the environment she is in. There are not a lot of job opportunities, politics is getting a little out of control, and there is just too much corruption.

I don't want to live everyday worrying about our future. I packed my bags and then my daughter's bags. I'm leaving everything behind. I told my friends and family my plans and I know they don't understand why I am doing this. I don't need them to understand. I need them to respect my decision. I spent the day with my family and then got ready to leave for the airport. I already looked at a few small houses in Florida. I think there will be more opportunities for Anastasia. She will get a better education, have fun activities, and live near the beach. I know Anastasia has always wanted to live near the beach.
