Think about the problem and solution. This will be the main focus of your summary.

Remember how a story mountain introduces the characters and setting, then the plot builds until the height of the problem and then the problem is resolved and the story is wrapped up.

Keep the problem and solution in your head as you use the next few slides to plan your summary.

Decide if you need a background sentence before using "Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then" If you do, write your background sentence below. Start with the characters.

Write the main character's name below.

Wanted

After the main character's name, write the word wanted. Then write what the main character wanted.

But

Write the word "but." Then write what got in the way of what the main character wanted. This is usually the problem!
