The partition that happened in India was bad culturally, politically, and economically. Many people died during the partition. Many tensions developed between groups of people. Buildings were destroyed during the move. The partition was bad because many people died, tensions were developed and people's homes and stores were destroyed.
Many people died during the partition while trying to move. Both Hindus and Muslims were killed. They were killed because of their religion. Most of them were killed in riots. (Article A-3)
The partition ignited tensions between the two religious groups. Several people that were friends before the partition ended up hating each other. Muslims were even looting Hindus that were trying to leave Pakistan.(A-5, B-1)
Several buildings and huts were destroyed or burnt down during the partition. People of opposite sides would target stores and homes owned by the other. Even entire villages were leveled. (A-5)
