Dedicated to my best friend and brother, Colin.

"SOLD!" read the sign standing in Kara's front yard. She gazed out the window, wondering what her new life would look like. In just a few days, she would be leaving her home in Kalamazoo, Michigan and moving to Cincinnati, Ohio.
She sat in her room surrounded by tall cardboard boxes and big rolls of bubble wrap. She refused to pack. Somehow, shoving ten years worth of memories into smelly boxes didn't seem right.
Kara walked down the hall and poked her head in her brother, Colin's room. To her surprise, all of his trophies, flags, medals and clothes were packed! Kara thought to herself, "If Colin can pack, maybe I can too." Colin noticed she was sad.
Kara returned to her room. Minutes later, Colin came in with markers! They transformed the boring boxes into colorful creations. With the help and encouragement of her brother, Kara managed to get all of her things packed.
Packing was hard, but saying goodbye was even harder. Kara had a great soccer team that she loved. On her last day of practice, her team surprised her with a new ball. They all signed it with their name and jersey number. She knew she was going to miss them.
The next goodbye Kara had was to her classmates. Kara loved her school, her teachers, and her peers. On Kara's last day of school, everyone signed her yearbook and wrote her a letter of encouragement. This meant a lot to Kara.
Her last night in Kalamazoo, Kara's best friends threw her a going away party. They surprised her with a scrapbook filled with pictures and memories. Kara was sad to leave these great friends.
That next morning, Kara woke up and looked outside her bedroom window once again. She saw all of her colorful boxes being loaded into the big truck. Moving day had come.
Colin came into Kara's room and gave her a hug. Together, they went downstairs and got in the car. They were both sad, but they knew they had each other.
They left their house for the last time. Kara looked out the back car window and thought about all of the fun memories she had. She felt a tear roll down her cheek.
Kara was exhausted. It had been an emotional week. She had a five hour car ride ahead of her, so she decided to close her eyes and go to sleep.
Kara awoke to Colin tapping her leg. She looked out the window and saw skyscrapers, taxis, busy streets and loud noises. They had arrived in Cincinnati.
They pulled into a new driveway, up to a new house, and saw a "NEW HOUSE, SOLD!" sign. Colin and Kara were quiet.
Colin and Kara walked in. It wasn't like their old house. The walls were a weird tan and had nothing on them. The rooms were empty. Worst of all, it smelled weird!
Kara picked out her room (she took the biggest one) and the movers began to bring up her boxes. She sat in her new room, once again, surrounded by boxes.
Colin poked his head in. "Need some help?" he asked. "Sure..." muffled Kara.
