It was a warm, summer day when all of the young animals in the forest wanted to do was play hide and seek. This is the game the animals always played, so Finley, the young fox, decided not to play with everyone.
"Finley, why aren't you wanting to play? You always do!" asked Roy, the young rabbit.
"Because Roy, we always play this game! I want to do something new and more fun than hide and seek today!" replied Finley.
Roy said, "Okay, we do always play this game. You're right, it will be more fun to do something new. Let's go find Sally and see if she has any ideas."
Finley and Roy ran off in search for Sally, the young squirrel.
"Sally! We are so happy we found you! We need your help." yelled Finley and Roy at once.
"Hey guys! I am so happy to see you, what's the problem?" quickly replied Sally.
Finley answered, "Sally, everyone wants to play hide and seek again, but we want to do something different."
"Then let's do it! I know exactly what we can do" Sally said with a smirk.
"Let's go find Willow, and ask him what we can do. I know how much everyone looks up to him around this forest, and he is a wise, old man, so he will definitely have something in mind for us" continued Sally.
Finley and Roy agreed with Sally's idea. Together, the three young animals took off to head to Willow, the old and wise oak tree.
After what seemed to be a long journey, the animals found Willow. Willow was sleeping, so the animals had to try to wake him.
Willow finally heard the young animals running around him, so he woke up.
"Well, hello there my little ones! What brings you to me today?" said Willow as he yawned.
"Willow! We need your help!" shouted the animals altogether.
"What can I help you with?" Willow asked.
"Well," began Finley, "all of the animals are playing hide and seek, and none of us want to play. So we came to you to find a new game to play that no one else has played before."
"Ah...I see. You came to the right place. I am full of ideas! I have the perfect game in mind. But, you will have to sit and listen to me for a while so I can tell you every detail of it" Willow told the young animals.
"Yes! We will do anything! Let's hear it!"shouted all of the animals with excitement.
"Well, the game I want you little ones to play has to do with science. I know it is not a school day, but it is something that you witness all around you, everyday" said Willow.
"All around us everyday?" said Sally with confusion.
"Yes, what I want you to do today has to deal with something called the Carbon Cycle" replied Willow.
"The Carbon Cycle? I am not sure what that is" said Roy.
"I have heard of carbon dioxide in school because we learned that we breathe in oxygen, and breathe out carbon dioxide. But...I do not know what the carbon cycle is" Finely replies.

"No worries! I am going to tell you the steps of the Carbon Cycle right now. Then, I am going to send you on a mission to find me something" Willow tells the group as he gathers the little ones around him.
Willow goes on telling the group the steps of the Carbon Cycle. He tells them that all of the plants around the forest use the sun and carbon dioxide to grow, and to make their own food.
