Once upon a time there was a girl named
Samantha Cortes, but her friends called her
Sammie. Her dream was to be a famous and
professional soccer player. But her mom refused
to let her be a soccer player. She wanted her to
be a doctor, like a regular decent girl.

Sammie refused to give up on her dream and
wanted to join a soccer club, but she had to pay
to join. She didn't want to disappoint her mom so
she got a job as a dog walker while she was out
of school.

Sammie told her mom about the job and she
agreed. Her mom did not tell Sammie that it was
only to keep her away from soccer. Sammie
finally got enough money and secretly joined the
club. While Sammie was at soccer practice her
mom thought she was walking dogs.

Sammie knew that it was really bad for her to keep
something from her mom but she really loved soccer. Her
soccer coach said she was an excellent soccer player. The
team started having games and they won most of their
games.

One day Sammie's soccer coach told her team that they
were going to face one of the best teams so they had to
train harder and longer.

That was a big problem with Sammie because she had to
keep the secret from her mom. She thought about it over
night, and she decided to tell her mom the truth.

When her mom found out Sammie was lying she was
very disappointed in her, but she understood and wasn't
mad. Sammie was very happy about that because she
would no longer have to keep the secret from her mom.
Sammie and her team trained harder and longer each
day, but the difference was that Sammie's mom was at
each practice.

Finally, the day of the big game came. Their coach hadn't
told the team that she invited a very important soccer
coach to watch the game. Sammie and her team played
very hard but lost 4-3. The famous soccer coach was very
impressed by how the team had played, and gave them
all spots on his team. Sammie was so happy. Even
though she went through a lot she was happy that she
had not given up on her dream.
