Every day, the Earth makes a complete rotation around it's axis. In fact, the rotation is what MAKES days and nights, so you can thank the movement of the Earth for the sunrise and sunset!

The Earth also moves around the sun, completing the loop every 365 days. The revolution of the Earth is responsible for your birthday being on the same day each year!

The Earth's axis is at a tilt relative to the Sun. This moderate angle is responsible for the seasons we experience in different regions. You can thank this 23-degree tilt for the hot summers and cold winters at different times of the year!

Lastly, there are two equinoxes and two solstices each revolution. The equinoxes mark equal days and nights, while solstices are when there is the greatest difference in length of day versus length of night. Together, these 4 days throughout the year mark the beginnings of each season. Solstices signal the start is summer and winter, and equinoxes mark the start of spring and fall.
