Grandmas have many names. Some use their last name and are called "Grandma Jones". Some would rather be called by their first name. So some are called "Grandma Carol"or whatever her first name is.. Sometimes a grandma will want to be called "Nana"or "Granny".

Some people give their grandmas the names that they used when they were babies. Like "Maw Maw" .

In England they call their grandmas Gran. In France they say Grandmere and in Germany it's Oma. In Mexico or Spain it's Abuela.

No matter what they are called, all Grandmas are special. They know a lot about kids because they already raised some. Guess who your grandma's child was ? Your Mom or Dad!

If you didn't know this ask your Mom and Dad who belonged to which grandma.

Grandmas are old. Some are older than others. Some cannot do everything with you because they have trouble walking or hearing or seeing.

But, every grandma is a good grandma. Grandmas love their grandchildren very much.So do Nanas and Grans and Grannys and Mawmaws! It doesn't matter what you call your Grandmas. They are all wonderful because they love you!

Grandmas can be Nanas

and Nanas can be Grans

Some are fun

and can even run

Some are old

and not so bold

But whatever your grandma can do

she will do it just for you.
