STEM in kindergarten
What is STEM?
STEM" is an approach to Education designed to introduce the Technologies and the Science of Engineering, which are the means of interaction for human beings, in the teaching of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, which is vital for a basic understanding of the universe.

STEM education cultivates critical thinking and open the way for innovation (new generation innovation).
It contributes to the cultivation of cooperation and problem solving.
Provides opportunities for improvement in students' knowledge and skills and improves learning performance.
Students know in practice the subject they are interested in studying and receive an excellent vocational guidance.
Through STEM we can make learning so meaningful for students to have a positive attitude towards learning and school further, to avoid student leaks and to have students who overall achieve high performance, creating clearly more attractive environments learning.
Students should be educated so that they can address issues - challenges of modern world society, but which have environmental, socio-economic and political implications

Children through playful activities learn also the basic principles of all arts and Design ( STEAM ).
Creative thinking and innovation are essential for STEM activities and play an important role in the overall development of an individual as they contribute to the development of children’s creativity and imagination.
STEM provides skills development opportunities by encouraging children to answer questions and engage
in playful science, math, engineering and technology activities.
What we can do?
Children create compositions using Lego or wooden pedagogical material. (They build houses, trees, animal farms, apartment buildings, paths, compose cities, bridges, etc.) or other free constructions guided by their imagination and creativity.
We can do simple experiments in Kindergarten, something that children also like, such as experiments with air, shadow, sun, water, heat, balloons, magnets.
We can put STEN in the kitchen, making cooking recipes by as well.
Children can make various constructions using useless and non-material (eg plastic bottles, boxes, newspapers, etc.) such as volcanoes, dams, bridges, stations.
We can use various robots in our classroom, which will help children learn letters and numbers, find hidden treasures, plan routes, learn concepts (such as left-right, back-forward, up-down, etc.)
We can finally introduce children to a language other than letters, the language of the future, that of commands and programming (coding)
