fair maiden named 'Triangella'. However, this wasn't your ordinary
princess. While most princesses were pleased with diamonds, gems,
and riches; this princess was quite fond of Italy's finest delicacy-
PIZZA!

was what she enjoyed most. There she sat, day and night in her tower eating
delicious pies. Pepperoni, mushrooms, ham, pineapple, anchovies, you
name it- she ate it all. Her father feared that due to her intense love of pizza
that she would never come down from her tower and find a true love of her
own. To make matters worse, the local pizza shops were running low on
flour and supplies to keep up with Triangella's pizza requests! As ruler of the
land, the King knew it would be his responsibility to replenish the pizza
supply to keep his daughter happy.... unless.............

every need! They would then fall so madly in love
that she would forget all about the shortage of pizza. The
problem was, the only way the princess would even set eyes
on a gentleman would be if he had a warm, greasy, cheesy,
slice of pizza in his hand.

frustrations grew, the King proposed this idea to his daughter
Triangella.

suggest that in order to solve this pizza problem and to keep your
heart's content, I demand that we have pizza brought in from
outside our kingdom!" The princess's eyes lit up in joy and
excitement. Then, her father spoke again.

of your choice. The gentleman who brings the most
perfect slice of pizza shall be your prince. We will
have you wed at once!"

her eyebrows rose in concern. As much as she
disagreed with her father's demands, she knew she
had no other choice to satisfy her need for pizza-
and so she woefully agreed.

The next day, the king sent out a letter
to potential suitors near and far that read:

I, the king, am looking for a husband for my
beautiful daughter Triangella. The man who
brings the most "perfect" piece of pizza shall become
her prince. Please come to the castle next Tuesday at
6:00 p.m. sharp to see if you are the chosen one!
Sincerely,
The King

As the next few days passed, Triangella grew
anxious, and hungry as well. She couldn't wait to
see what sorts of delicious pizza the men would be
delivering. On Tuesday morning, she rose extra
early to primp herself. She put on her silkiest
gown, her most sparkly diamonds, and combed
her hair perfectly straight. It was nearly a quarter
til 6:00, and the princess already had suitors lined
up outside the castle walls. One by one the men
came in to present princess Triangella with the
'perfect' piece of pie.
However, her definition of 'perfect' was
unbeknownst to the men.

introductions to his daughter. "My dear Triangella,
please meet Lord Isosceles hailing from Scotland. Lord
Isosceles brought his pizza over to the princess where
she scanned it over thoroughly.

Only 2 sides are the same length
and one is much smaller!"
Lord Iscoceles spoke. "Why yes,
this is my famous isoceles shaped slice
for which I am named after. Only 2
sides are indeed the same length."
"I'm sorry", said Triangella. "Surely there
must be a larger, more even slice out there.
This is just not quite what I am looking for."
And so the Lord brought his isosceles
shaped slice out to where the others were
waiting.

Scalene". These brothers felt extremely confident, for two slices is
better than one.
"Greetings fair princess", the brothers said in unison. "We've traveled
all the way from Ireland to meet you. We have heard of your
adoration of pizza, and so we have brought not one, but TWO
slices! Surely you will choose us!"

Brothers!

different lengths. How can you convince me that two very small, uneven
slices is better than one large, perfectly crafted proportionate slice? The
brothers scalene hadn't quite thought about that. For to them, they had
the most perfect slices. "My dear Triangella, we can assure you that these are the
tastiest bites in all the kingdom, despite their three sides of different lengths! The
princess scoffed at the brothers and refused to try even a morsel! With that she sent them
away and called in for 'Mr. Right'.

uniquely shaped slices, cut with a precise 90 degree angle.
He too, had 3 sides of different lengths, but was certain
that his scrumptious slice with a right angle would woo
Triangella's heart. As he approached the throne, he could
see Triangella was growing weary, and appeared to be
giving up hope. He realized that while he and the
commoners of France found his slices to be perfect, that
the princess might have higher expectations. "I have yet
to be turned away for my slices", thought Mr. Right, "and
so I must trust my pizza-making skills and impress the
princess!" He gave his right triangular slice one last
sprinkle of parmesan cheese, and marched right up to
Triangella.
