Hi my name is Grace. Today I’m going on an adventure, would you like to come along?

We are going to be traveling to different locations to see different types of landscapes. In order for us to fit all of these places into one day we will be taking a hot air balloon! 

It is time to start our excursion, let's go!

We have arrived at our first stop, the mountains!

Did you know that Mount Everest is the highest mountain peak in the world, it's around 29,000 ft high. Another fun fact is that some mountains can be found under the sea and they could possibly be even bigger than Mount Everest.

Let’s head to our next destination.

It looks like we have made it to a volcano.

Did you know that volcanoes are also a type of mountain? They are called volcanic mountains. Some mountains can be formed when molten rocks from inside the earth rise to the surface, pouring out lava from a volcano.

Now let’s head on to our next location before this volcano erupts!

We have arrived at the dessert. There are two types of deserts; hot and cold.

Today we have stopped at the hot dessert. Desserts are dry, hot areas of land which get little to no rainfall. The main vegetation that grow here are cactus and baobab trees because they can store water over long periods of time to endure the harsh weather.

It is way too hot here to be out all day let’s get in the balloon and head somewhere else.

We have reached more mountains, but this time they are snowy mountains.

Did you know some mountains remain covered with snow all year long? Animals like the yak, mountain puma, and snow leopard all have thick coats of fur and can survive the harsh weather of the mountain.

Let’s get out of here before we turn into ice cubes.
