To my wonderful and brilliant students

Hello, students! Ms. Woodard here! Today we will be going over classroom rules. This book is designed to help you familiarize yourself with classroom etiquette as you prepare for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions, make sure to let me know so I can help you in any way possible. Let's jump right in!

Rule #1 : Treat others with respect.
Treating others the way you want to be treated is very important. We should all do our best to make others feel comfortable and respected when they step in this classroom!

Rule #2: Come to class prepared.
Make sure you have your materials with you to help you succeed. This includes pencils, paper, homework, etc. If you don't have a way to get these materials, come talk to me! I'd love to help you!

Rule #3: Listen to instructions.
It's important that you always listen for instructions when doing an assignment. This allows me to explain the assignment and answer any questions so you can get the best grade possible!

Rule #4: Raise your hand before speaking.
If you raise your hand before speaking, this lets me know you have something to say. This also signals to your classmates that it is your turn to contribute. If you're too nervous to raise your hand and speak aloud, talk to me after class!

Rule #5: Stay on task.
During work time, you should always stay on task. If you concentrate on your work, you can get more done! This also helps you focus and learn the material at hand.

Rule #6: Pick up after yourself.
This includes trash and materials. As a student, YOU are responsible for your own mess. If everyone keeps their desks/stations clean, we will all benefit from a healthy and clean learning environment.

Rule #7: Listen to other students.
When it is not your time to speak, you should listen to other students. Their question, comment, or answer could benefit you during an assignment. This also helps keep the noise level comfortable for everyone.

Rule #8: Keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
You should never touch another student. Although this can sometimes be unintentional, make sure to notice your surroundings to avoid an possible injury or accidents.

Rule #9: Notify the teacher of any accidents.
If an accident has happened or you feel like you are getting sick, tell me as soon as possible! We don't want an accident to go unnoticed and if medical attention is necessary, it is important to address the problem.

Rule #10: Respect school property.
We should all do our best to make sure our school is well taken care of. This includes taking care of materials such as textbooks, computers, desks, and so much more! If we respect our environment we will become better learners!
