















A long time ago in a big forest full of small cold ponds and giant spruces, a small hard-working Beaver decided to build a dam. He knew his ancestors had been doing this for many generations, but he wasn’t quite sure why. Nevertheless, the need to do so was overwhelming and he couldn’t help himself any longer.
So he got started, first with small branches, then with bigger ones, then with logs, and then with bigger and bigger logs.
One sunny morning, the beaver was carrying a particularly heavy log. The Fox, which was passing by, offered to help him carry that log, but the Beaver respectfully declined the help.







One rainy afternoon, the Beaver was carrying a big and very heavy log. The Moose, who was passing by, offered to help him, but the Beaver respectfully declined the help.
