Hello there! My name is Evelyn and I love to explore the ocean!

The ocean is full of fascinating animals and plants such as fish, dolphins, seaweed, and coral!

The ocean makes up 71 percent of our planets surface! That's a lot of water! The ocean is also very salty. Ocean water does not taste very good!

The ocean even has layers! These layers have super cool scientific names like epipelagic and abyssopelagic, but we can also call these layers by easier to remember names!

Now its time to go on our journey! We are going to travel all the way to the bottom of the ocean, layer by layer!

The first layer is the epipelagic zone or sunlight zone. It receives the most sunlight and is about 500 feet deep! This layer also has the most plant and animal life. This is also the layer where you can snorkel and scuba dive!
