Vegetables and health
CABBAGE
Cabbage is one of the most nutritious and healthy vegetables in the world. Cabbage is an important source of beneficial substances that help the immune system defend our body from diseases and from germs and bacteria. It is rich in vitamin A and vitamin C , but also carotenoids and flavonoids with marked antioxidant properties that with their action contribute to the prevention of ailments and premature aging it is important not to delay the sowing that should be done in spring, since their growth period is very long. plant in succession from the end of March to May to have a harvest between late summer and early fall.
MATTIA
Potato
Originally from the Andes, the potato was domesticated in the region of Lake Titicaca and became one of the main foodstuffs of the Incas, who developed a large number of varieties to adapt it to the different environments of the regions inhabited by them.
The first Europeans to know the potato were the Spanish conquistadors of Peru: the first written description of the plant dates back to 1537. The potato arrived in Europe around the middle of the sixteenth century: it is reported in Spain in 1573, a little later in the countries Bassi and in Italy (at the time Spanish possessions), in England in 1588 (brought by Walter Raleigh), in Germany at the end of the century; in Italy it was called tartuffolo or white truffle.

LA TRAMA SCHOOL (Sabadell. Barcelona (SPAIN))
GREEN PLANET POSTERS

OUR LOGOS

We want to be a Green School
La Trama school realizes about the importance of making a green planet. Because of that, the school is proud of participating in this eTwinning project. First of all, we want to analyze if our school is a green institution. Can we do actions to improve our way of protecting our environment? By sharing criteria with the countries involved in this project, we planned different actions. Here you have them.

MAKING POSTERS FOR CELEBRATING "PARKING DAY". September 21st.

After that, we decide to do a research about Autumn and we start by planting seeds at school. They are mint, parsley and basil. Children take care of them and they take data each two or three weeks:

*
Bearing in mind that our school is very small, the English teacher talks with parents and asks the permission to use The Trama School urban garden, which is 30 minutes walking from school. The teacher organizes a morning trip and having the collaboration of an adult, we start cleaning the garden's soil.
The plan is to organize children in three groups.
1st group: Cleaning task and plant squash and courgette seeds in La Trama garden.
2nd group: English task (School Garden Hunt*)
3rd group: Art task
Groups do three different task from 10 a.m. till 12:30.

Moreover, children project and design a garden in Kindergarten building. Students want to build a garden for the little ones.
They calculate the area and launch their ideas for making the project real.
Kindergarten are really happy.

There is a tradition at La Trama School in which year 6 are like "helpers" for kindergarten children. The big ones become "Good fathers" for the little ones. Among their duties, they help the little ones to become greener due to the eTwinning project!

Kindergarten children are so happy to see how year 6 students work and they want to help the big ones by labeling plants.
This is going to be a nice activity to link the little with the big ones.
ALL TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A BETTER WORLD!

COUNTRIES ORAL PRESENTATION

COVID-19 WEEKS
Which plants can you see from home or at home?
Children draw their plants or those that they are able to see from home.

Along COVID weeks, a treasure hunt is created for students so that they are able to IMAGINE traveling through different landscapes. In this way, through gamification they can be in contact with nature by living a dreaming adventure!

Γεια σας!! Hello!! Welcome to our School!
We are a very creative and active School that promotes environmental education and cultivates life skills and positive attitudes in this field. Through the innovative educational projects that we realize every year we motivated the environmental awareness of the pupils. During the School year 2019-2020 we cooperated with success with many countries and we are sure that all together we can make our world better!
Best wishes from the pupils of grade 6 and the Art Teacher Theodora Chandrinou.

We love nature and we are very happy that we have olive trees in the School yard. We take care of the precious trees and we participate in the harvesting.
We shared our environmental messages through the eTwinning project "Urban garden" and enjoyed the collaboration with so many creative pupils!
You are welcome to Greece and to our School, thank you very much!
