Joan of Arc believed that she was chosen by God to save France. She set out on a divine mission to expel France's enemies and get Charles his crown, which would make him the rightful king.

Around 1428, Joan of Arc had some followers but that wasn't enough to achieve her goals. She needed to get to Charles and wanted to ask him if he would give her an army to lead. To get to him, she had to dress like a man and cut her hair.

When she finally got to him, she won him over by revealing information that only a messenger from God could know. She told him that she would lead France to victory over England, if he gave her an army, and that she would get him his rightful crown. He listened.

He gave her an army and she lead them to Orleans. And in that city, they had a monumental victory.

After that, she was able to see Charles crowned as King Charles VII, but soon after she was captured and tried for witchcraft and heresy. In 1431 she was burned at the stake.

Today she is views as a great saint and a symbol of French unity and nationalism. She was a hero.
