To incredible upstanders



One day after a long day at work during the 1950's, Rosa Parks was tired and was wanting to go home to rest. She caught a bus in Montgomary where the black people had to sit on the left side of the bus and the white people on the right side.




As Rosa Parks was on the bus, she noticed many white men piling into the bus. Because there were not enough seats the bus driver demanded that four black people must give up their seat.


Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat for the white man standing above her.

The bus driver got really mad and called the police to arrest her for being strong and not giving in for the white people.

Rosa Parks was a strong women for not standing up and protesting for black rights. Doing good things like this is called being an upstander.
Rosa Parks now rest peacefully knowing that she did something good for humanity in her life time.
