In a faraway land in Greece lived two great students; Aristotle and Democritus.

Aristotle is the top student in town.

Teachers admire him for his confidence. Students admire him for his participation in public speaking. Everybody wants to be like Aristotle!

On the silent end of the classroom is the other student named Democritus.

He is a student of great honor. He spends much time observing his environment. Although he is very intelligent, he chooses to keep his thoughts to himself.

One sunny day, Aristotle went outdoors with his friends for lunch. As he was watching the waves hit the land, he suddenly realized something... suspicious.

"Earth!" he said. "Earth?" his friends asked.
"Air!" he said. "Air?" his friends asked.
"Wind!" he said. "Wind?" his friends asked.
"Fire!" he said. "Fire?" his friends asked.

These are the four elements that make up all things on Earth! Everything is made up of these four elements!" he exclaimed. His friends rejoiced with him for discovering something new.

On the next day, Aristotle shared his idea with his classmates. Most of them believed him and praised him for his discovery. He was very happy because no one questioned him.

ARISTOTLE'S SUCCESS!!!

ARISTOTLE'S SUCCESS!!!

His name was plastered on posters all over the school. Everybody talked about his discovery and ideas for months!

One afternoon, while Democritus was eating a ham and cheese sandwich, he decided to cut it into small pieces to give to his classmate.

He started cutting the sandwich into sma;;er pieces using a knife. He realized that every time he would cut the sandwich into smaller parts, it would only increase in number and decrease in size.

At that moment, Democritus felt a light bulb light up in his head! He immediately stood up and squeezed into the crowd of students that surrounded Aristotle.
