Thank you Sofia, for making me believe in my dream to make a book- Sydney

"OMG! You are in my class too!"
It was 5th grade, and Sofia and Sydney was in the same class, again. "I don't believe it!" Sydney exclaimed. "Well, does a one-legged duck swim in circles?" Sofia snickered. She had been learning weird sayings over the summer. Sydney giggled. Their teacher was Mrs. Hutchinson, it was really hard to spell. "Welp, I guess we are one of the unlucky ones" Sofia said. "Well, at least she is nice, she gave me some smarties when I walked in!" Sydney yelled.
"Ssssshhhhhh!" snapped Mrs. Hutchinson.
"Yeah right, plus, Smarties are sooo 90's." Sofia muttered under her breath.

Welcome!
Ssssshhhhhh!

Sydney
Sofia

The first few periods was math. The good news is, that they were learning decimals, and Sofia and Sydney already knew decimals. Mr. Lucas, their Grade 4 teacher, had taught them really well. The bad news is, Sofia and Sydney had to be in partners, they decided to go together, but Mrs. Hutchinson said after the yelling incident, she thought it would be better if they had different partners, so she put Sydney with the dumbest kid in class. (Because all the good partners were taken.) And Sofia with the meanest kid in class.

Mean Kid

Dumb Kid

After that, Sofia and Sydney went to the Cafeteria, got a tray, and went to line up with the others. "My partner was so mean!" Sofia whispered. "He tripped me while I was going to get paper, and when I was going to get pencils too!"."Didn't you tell the teacher?" Sydney asked.
"No, that jerk lied to the teacher that I pulled down his pants, that wasn't true!". She paused. "How was your partner? I heard he was pea brained.". "Umm, well you see, I tried to help his dumbness by making him read a book. But he was so dumb he couldn't read one sentence! I lost my mind and screamed at him. So I got in trouble." "Poor you, you and your yelling." Sofia sighed.
Sydney looked guilty.

The jerk lied to the teacher!

!!
I lost my mind and screamed at him.

!!!!!!!!!!!

When it was their turn to get food, Sydney got a snail soup and tea, (You might think "Yuck!" but in her culture, it's delicious!) and Sofia got Mac n' Cheese and tropical fruit punch. They sat down at an empty table, sadly eating. "This is going to be a bad day." Sofia sighed. " A least we have each other." Sydney pointed out. " Yeah, but still, even if we had each other, that bully and that dumb kid ain't gonna be better even if I had you around! You got in trouble the last time you tried." Sofia said. Sydney looked surprised. " What do you mean " last time"?". " Don't you remember? That same kid was in out class last year! You tried to teach him how to draw, and you got in trouble." Sofia said. " Oh yeah!" Sydney said.

Ewwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After lunch, they went to the bigger field for recess, where the teens usually play, but of course, they didn't know that. "Hmmm. Doesn't this look odd? All the teens are here." Sydney whispered. "Mmmhh" muttered Sofia, only paying attention to her phone, she was making cute poses on Snapchat. "SOFIA WATCH OUT!!!" Sofia didn't flinch. Then WHACK! Another new grade 5 in the wrong field like them kicked a ball onto Sofia. Their eyes locked. " Oh my gosh!" Sydney said. The surprised kid took the ball back and ran." Sofia! Are you ok!?". "F-fall, A-A gre-the -b-bOa". Then Sofia fainted. " Take her to the nurse!" Sydney screamed.

She woke up in the hospital. " W-what happened?".
"You got knocked unconscious by a ball" Sydney said. "Ummm, ok" Sofia said, dazed. " Is that boy arrested?" Sofia said. " Nope, not at all." Sydney said. " Goo- I mean, baad...". Sydney looked at her like something was wrong. Then she left a present and her phone. " It got broken when you fell, so I got it fixed." Sydney chirped. Sofia stared at her phone. " Umm, ok.. Thanks Sydney.". When Sydney left, a nurse came in with food, some fruit salad, and ice-cream. "Yum!" Sofia said. She gobbled up the dessert in seconds. "Oh, I wish Sydney was here too." Sofia sighed.

Meanwhile... Sydney went home. " What a crazy day." Sydney said to herself. She slumped on the couch, took out her pile of homework, and started working. " How school kiddo?" her dad interrupted her thoughts. He sat down beside her and looked down at her paper. " Watcha working on there?" her dad asked. " I'm stuck on this one." she said. " 35 + 6758999, oh that's easy!" her dad said. " Then what's the answer?" Sydney said. Her dad's face turned red. "Ummm, I'm not supposed to tell you. " Then walk me through it." Sydney said, disappointed. " You know what? You are a big girl now, work it out." He said, getting up. " Some dad." Sydney murmured.

?

She gave up and went to her room. " Why does Sofia get to have presents, ice-cream, and she stays in bed all day and have no homework! It's just not fair!" She yelled and threw herself on her bed. She quietly sobbed. " Noe fwar" Her baby sister, Paris repeated. "Be quiet!" Sydney snapped. Paris continued to play in her crib. Sydney secretly used her calculator to do her homework. In 20 minutes, she was done. "Wow, the last time I saw all your work, I knew you would not finish it, but look at you!" Sydney smiled with pride. "I'm gonna do that everyday." Sydney smirked.
