"Hey, Mr. Squirrel" is the adaptation of a little song that I wrote and sang for my granddaughters, Jillian, Chloe, and Olivia. This book is dedicated to their mother Tiffany, who is married to our son Casey. Tiffany has her hands full with all of this responsibility. I call her the "Chaos Coordinator".

Grandpa and Grandma woke up one morning and decided to take a walk in the Loveable Forest. They always enjoyed watching the squirrels play and listening to the sounds of the birds singing in the tall trees.

Grandma said, "It sure is a pretty day to be outside. The sun feels nice and it is not too hot, and the cool breeze is just right for a nice long walk."
Grandpa answered, "Yep!"

Grandpa loved music, and he always had a song in his head. Sometimes he would whistle or sing whatever was on his mind. This morning, he was humming a song that he had heard years ago. "It's such a pretty world today, look at the sunshine."

As they continued walking, Grandma remembered something that she had read in the bible and repeated it out loud. "This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it."
Grandpa said, "Yep!" and continued to hum to himself.

"Move over Grandma, here comes a guy on a bicycle."
They said hello and kept walking.

When it was time to head home, Grandpa pointed to the sky and said, "Look! That's a rain cloud, and it's going to start raining very soon. We better walk faster!"

Just as they got home, it started raining very hard. It rained so hard that all of the animals and birds stayed hidden for the rest of the day.

Grandpa sat by the window waiting for the rain to stop. Finally, when the rain stopped, a little squirrel came out to play.
