Hi, we are 4 high school students, from the scientific high school of Parma G. Ulivi.
We worked together on this project to really understand what global problem are and what we can do in our own.
Happy reading, we hope you enjoy it.

Saving the world seems like a job for superheroes but we all have to work together to have a future.
How often do we say that there are problems in the world that we have to solve in the next future? What are we now doing for it and what should we do to fix these problems? These questions were asked by global leaders of 193 countries, who met up on the 25th September of 2015. They signed a document called “Agenda 2030”, which is an action program for people to save the planet. This Agenda contains 17 goals to be achieved by 2030.
GOALS FOR THE FUTURE

We have decided to deal with some of the most important goals and to give solutions that we can all implement. We must always remember to think global and act locally .

Today 836 million people still live in extreme poverty. In Africa and Asia one person out of five lives with less than 1.25$ per day. The poverty is rooted in small countries with war and problems. The consequences are hunger, malnutrition and illiteracy. The goals aim at halving the number of poor men, women and children and creating solid political national systems. It is also necessary to give the same opportunities and means to all developing countries. It is important for everybody to have the same rights without any distinction between poor and rich people.
GOAL 1: NO POVERTY
We must:
- understand the value of money;
-spend our time in doing voluntary work (such as collecting food, money, clothes, toys, medicines for poor people);
-spend our time with marginalized people
WHAT MUST WE DO?

795 million people in the world, one out of nine, are malnourished. The majority of them lives in Africa and Asia. Agriculture is the only livelihood and work for many people, especially in developing countries. The goals are: supporting small farmers and giving women equal access to resources (or giving equal access to resources to women) . By 2030 one hopes to finally eliminate hunger, malnutrition and double agriculture productivity.
GOAL 2: ZERO HUNGER
We must:
-Do not waste food or water
-Talk about the topic and inquire about how to “recycle” food
-Give food or money to N.G.O.
-Spend time to serve at the poor’s kitchen
WHAT MUST WE DO?

Every year 6,000,000 children die before becoming 5 years old. These children often live in Sub-Saharian Africa and in other developing countries. In these countries, a normal illness may become fatal because even simple medicines aren’t available as in richer countries. It is necessary to make medicine available for everyone in the world, especially for the most common sicknesses as HIV/AIDS and malaria. It is also important to spread information to prevent people from getting sick.
We must donate money to NGO to buy vaccines and medicines
GOAL 3: GOOD HEALTH

A good education is the base for life. The basic level of literacy has improved but there is still work to be done to achieve quality education on a global level. It is also important to reduce the difference between men and women in education. 57 million children, mostly from Africa, do not have access to schools. 103 million of young people cannot read and write, 60% of them are women. The goals are to guarantee every boy and girl freedom and fair access to education, only in this way we could save our generation and create a better future.
GOAL 4: QUALITY EDUCATION
WHAT MUST WE DO?
We must:
-Rspect our schools
-Donate to organizations which bring education to the poorest countries (teachers and schools)

Clean water, clean energy and economic growth: in the world, we have enough drinkable water for everyone, but we should manage it better than how we’re doing now. 663 million people have not the possibility to have clean water everyday. A person need water to drink and cook but also to wash himself and to preserve his personal hygiene: in facts, there are a lot of infections that become from dirty water. The 70% of natural disasters are tied to water, like flooding or hurricane.
GOAL 6: CLEAN WATER

Energy, like water is essential for everyone but it is badly managed, too. One out of 5 people hasn’t a modern access to electricity and 3 billion people depends to fossil fuels. Up to 2030, we have to increase the renewable resources.
An important aspect of civilization is the job. The countries where lots of people work are also the most developed countries. So, it’s important that people who live in developing countries have a job.
GOAL 7, 8 : CLEAN ENERGY AND ECONOMIC GROWT
We must:
-Use less water when we wash ourselves, preferring shower to bath
-Turning the light of when we don’t need it
-In the classroom, prefer sunlight over neon light
WHAT MUST WE DO?

Gender equality-reduced inequalities: Differences between male e female are currently spread in the world. But, least in the law, girls and women have the same rights of men. The situation is different in some African countries, where women are underpaid compared to men (only the 35% of the total worker).
GOAL 5,10: GENDER EQUALITY
