Dedicated to my orange cat obsessed mother.

Once upon a time there was an orange cat named George. George lived in a pretty neighborhood with beautiful, big houses.

The neighborhood sat upon a bluff. George loved to go on different adventures down the bluff. However, his favorite thing to do was visit his friends in the neighborhood.

George loved to go around the neighborhood looking for new friends. George looked over his shoulder to the left as a house towered over him. “Hmm, this house looks like a nice family lives here. I wonder if they have any cats I could play with.” George thought.
All of a sudden George heard something rustling in the grass. He ducked down into the grass, getting ready to pounce on the noise.

His tail started to move back and forth viciously like a rattlesnake. When he had all of his energy built up, he jumped quick and fast to where he heard the rustling.

To his great surprise the noise was not an insect, but another cat! George wrestled with the gray kitten until finally he was able to get away. “Wait, stop!” George shrieked. “I don’t want to fight! I’m going around to different houses looking for friends!”

The gray kitten was a bit smaller than George, but seemed to be rather rowdy. The kitten looked George up and down, trying to decide if he believed George.

“You’re really just looking for friends?”
“Of course! What else would I be doing?”
“I thought maybe you were here to cause trouble with my family. I did not want you to hurt them.”
“What are you a guard dog?” George quipped.
“No, I’m a guard cat. Can’t you tell?” With that the kitten ruffled his tail and sat up a bit straighter.

George tried not to laugh.
“Oh, yes, of course. I’m sorry, your royal guard cat. My apologies, I did not mean to trespass on your territory. My name is George.”
“I’m Luke, nice to meet you, George.”

“Luke, how would you like to walk with me as I go around the neighborhood? We might find some food, but hopefully we’ll find some other friends that we can take down the bluff with us!”

Luke was quick to agree to go with George. After all, Luke was new to the neighborhood and needed to meet other cats.
