This assignment is done to explore and learn how to work on language development and socialization. The students will create and acrostic poem using their name and what they think of themselves. They will then go around and look at their peer’s work. Their peers will then have the opportunity to add other words that they think their classmate might have missed. This is a wonderful way to have the class work on communication and socialization skills in a positive way. This assignment is able to be done in second and third grade classrooms. It can be done in younger age groups with assistance and older groups if they need to work on self-image and positivity within their surrounding groups. Through this assignment they are going to be learning about crucial social and emotional developmental skills.
