Grandpa and Grandma, what was it like growing up so many years ago?

Oh goodness! That was quite some time ago, I will have to think about it.

Yes yes, let us think about it. It was quite different than how you are growing up now Delia.

Back in the day, I didn't have any television to watch and keep me occupied. I listened to the radio for any news about what was happening in the neighbourhood. Good old Tom, my next door neighbour, knew everyone in the street and we would often ride our bicycles up and down the street to see what was happening!

When I wanted to talk to my friends who lived far away, I had to write them a letter and post it to their mailbox! If we really wanted to see each other, we would dial the home number using an old dial telephone and couldn't just send a text message like you do now with your friends.

I would often play with my wooden toys, ball and wagon. My friends and I would wheel all our toys on the wagon and go outside to play in the garden.
