Dedicated to all the little ladybugs!
Lily was a Ladybug. A very little ladybug. She lived in her cozy log home all through winter.
You see, Lily has never been outside of her log home before, as she was born in the middle of winter! So her mother kept her indoors at all times to prevent her from running away into the freezing cold!
Lily was sad, very sad. She wanted to explore the great outdoors! Her mother promised her that when the beautiful season called-what was it again? Oh yes, Spring. When the beautiful season called spring came, she would be allowed to spread her tiny wings and fly outside!
Lily was excited.
When is spring coming?
For the HUNDREDTH time Lily, spring is coming SOON!
One day, Lily's mother looked outside their little window and gasped with joy! Spring was here!
"But I can't see him!", exclaimed Lily. She thought spring was another ladybug friend!
"Oh Lily! Spring isn't a friend! Spring is a season where all the flowers bloom!", Lily's mother taught her.
"Well then what are you waiting for? Let's go!", Lily ushered her mother to the crack in the wall of their log, which acted like a door.
Lily found the forest outside buzzing with all the creatures her mother had told her about!
Wow!
"Why don't you go explore Lily? Just don't wander to far and come home before sundown. Also remember, SPIDERS ARE NOT FRIENDS!", Lily's mother asked.
"Okay mother!", Lily said, only half listening
Lily was amazed at what she saw! There were beautiful flowers everywhere in every colour! Reds, greens, and even blues! She saw tall trees with tiny white blossoms on them and other trees with large juicy-looking fruits!
Lily was happy. Very happy!
Spectacular!
As she wandered around, Lily came across a friendly bear!
"Hello Mr.Bear! How are you doing on this fine day?", Lily asked
"Well hello little ladybug! I'm doing fine, just searching for a rabbit or two to eat!", the friendly bear replied
"Oh-Okay uh well I will leave you to it!", Lily stammered
Bye Mr.Bear!
Bye Lily!
Next she came across a rabbit!
"Why hello Ms.Rabbit!", Lily greeted her.
"Hello ladybug!", the rabbit said
"Be careful, Mr.Bear is on the lookout for a rabbit!", Lily warned her.
"Oh thank you for telling me Lily! Bye!", the rabbit thanked her
"Bye!", Lily said gladly
