Somewhere cold, but sunny,
a tiny black nose appears from the snow and sniffs twice.
Then, ears shake to remove the snow from its head as two curious eyes appear.
It is Sam!
A young polar bear, who lives on one of the coldest regions on earth, known as The North Pole!
The North Pole is described as a large desert, full of ice and some very interesting animals, like Sam.
However, something is bothering him.
Unlike the sand deserts, his home is shrinking because of the warm temperatures.
“This is becoming a real problem”, Sam thought.
The next day, Sam goes to work with his father and sees his friend the seal. The seal mentions to Sam that this is his last day.
“Why?” Same asks shockingly.
Seal replies sadly, “Haven't you heard? everybody is moving to the south because the ice is melting, and with that, our homes."
The seal also mentioned to Sam that when he went south, he saw, just like Sam, animals who ran into issues and need help. Sam thought to help them and started building something very COOL!
A ship worthy of the oceans.
Big enough for Sam and for any of his friends in trouble along the way.
A strong breeze blows back Sam’s ears, the sun reflects on the ice and the water seems calm.
“A perfect day to set sail”, Sam says.
"Now all we need is a name."
“THE CITIZEN-SHIP!”, Sam shouted out loud.
With his bag packed and the pantry of his ship filled with food, Sam was ready.
“The seal said south, so that is where my journey begins!”, said Sam as he took off to the continent called North America.
The seals gave directions to North America, but after being on the water for so long, Sam could not tell the difference between left, right, front and back.
Just miles and miles of sea of The Atlantic Ocean, an ocean so big it would take weeks for Sam to arrive.
He wonders what adventures he would find beyond the horizon. One night when Sam was dreaming, he woke up hearing a large thump.
“THUMP”, he heard again, wide awake this time.
Sam rubs his sleepy eyes and sees land.
He carefully steps out of the ship and immediately freezes like a statue!
It was not because of the cold, but rather from something he had never seen before!
Enormous brown pillars with green feathers.
He saw hundreds of them, then thousands!!
However, no snow... not one little flake.
Sam explored the maze of brown pillars for a while but realized he was on a mission, a mission to find the beaver in trouble in the South.
“What did the seal tell him about the beaver again? he told me to look for a dam”.
