Season 1 Book 1: Pilot
It was a normal day for Jacob Snider. He was in his class when a loud noise shook the entire school. "Bang!" It sounded like something was smashed! Almost instantaneously, the loudspeaker crackled on with the principal's voice. "We are under lockdown blackout, I repeat we are under lockdown blackout." Jacob's teacher shut the door, blocked all windows, and ushered the class into the corner of the room by the sink. Jacob was curious. He was wondering what that noise was? Was it really a gunshot? He must find out.
While the teacher and the class stayed huddled up in balls worrying, Jacob rolled out of the corner and out the door into the hall. He then rushed to the back door that led to the basketball court. The security guard chose that moment to secure the 5th grade hall. Jacob rolled to the side under a black fold-out table with lunch boxes scattered on top. The security guard didn't notice Jacob under the table in his haste to check to see if classroom doors were locked. He soon left the hallway to check 4th and 6th grade and see how they were doing.
Jacob rolled out and tiptoed down the hall to the door. He silently slipped outside. He instantly dove for the nearby bench and slid under when he saw a man with a mallet staring at a crushed basketball hoop. His back was turned, so he didn't notice Jacob rushing for the metal bench. Jacob reached up to the bench and grabbed the closest object. A sports bottle. Perfect. He snatched it and slowly, yet carefully, slid across the court to the man. He went right up to the man's back and smashed the bottle over his head.
The man was taken by surprise, and collapsed to the ground. His mallet slipped out of his hand and hit the grass. Jacob snatched it before the man could retrieve it, and threw it over the fence into the trees. When the man staggered to his feet, he immediately leapt at Jacob. he tackled Jacob, and the two got into a fist fight. The man emerged victorious, and Jacob was left sprawled out on the ground. The man had broken his nose, and he had a bloody lip. He wanted to get up and get the man for what he did, but when he moved, a bolt of pain shot through his head and he fell back down.
The headache was making Jacob woozy, and he bit his lip. He tasted the blood, and it stung more. Soon he felt dehydrated from all the sweat coming off of him due to the heat. The sweat made it sting more, and soon Jacob was out.
Jacob awoke to the sound of birds chirping. He was still on the court, and the school had ended lockdown. His teacher hadn't noticed his absence in the mad rush to get work finished. After all, it was Friday, and the lockdown had taken away from work time. Jacob looked around. The man was long gone, but in his haste to escape the scene, had dropped his wallet. Jacob tried to crawl over to it, but his headache got the best of him, and he collapsed, breathing hard. He slowly crawled, and he finally reached the wallet. He then flipped open the wallet.
Inside was about 100 dollars in cash, a few credit cards, and a driver's license. But what caught Jacob's eye was another card, covered up by a Visa gift card. Jacob pulled it out, and it was a business card for a place called OBI. What it stood for, Jacob didn't see on the card. But what he did see was an address. Now, Jacob didn't have a GPS. But he did know the entire town inside-out, and he knew this place was a McDonalds that was nearby. He crawled off in the direction he remembered.
Meanwhile, inside the school, Jacob's teacher, Mrs. Fizzo, had finally noticed that Jacob was missing. She had sent kids to every place she could think of to look for him: the cafeteria, the bathrooms, the enhancement rooms, even the other classrooms all throughout the school! No sign of him. Mrs. Fizzo was worried. She called the principal, and soon the loudspeakers boomed throughout the school. "Attention! Everyone, Jacob Snider of Mrs. Fizzo's 4th Grade AIG class has gone missing! Please keep an eye out for him!"
Back to Jacob. Dark gray clouds loomed in the sky over Jacob, and rain began pouring down on him. Jacob shoved the wallet in his shirt to keep it dry. He rolled to the cover of a few trees. He stayed there for a while, rain splashing off of the leaves and soaking his pants. His headache was a little better, and his lip wasn't bothering him anymore.
When the rain stopped, it was getting late. Jacob soon dozed off under the tree. He woke up early in the morning, and continued traveling across Mooresville. He could now walk, and he was soon at McDonalds. What he saw made him jump.
The entire place was being guarded by men in black suits. They all wore dark sunglasses. One of them noticed Jacob crouching in the weeds and ran toward him. "Hey!", the man yelled. Jacob took that moment to gather his bearings and then, out of nowhere, charge at the man. He headbutted the man in the stomach. The man went down, and the other men were lured away from McDonalds. Jacob headbutted all of them, and them wildly dashed at McDonalds' front entrance.
Jacob was now in, and all the people that were peacefully eating were now staring at the dirty, smelly, blood-spattered boy that had interrupted their eating...
Season 1 Book 2: The Hidden Room
Jacob was in the McDonalds. The people that had once been peacefully eating greasy hamburgers and french fries were now staring at the dirty 4th grader that had barged in on them. Jacob looked at the card. The second set of instructions said to go to the kitchen room. So, under the prying eyes of about 50 angry customers, Jacob slipped behind the counter into the ordering station. The woman behind the counter looked at him quizzically. "What're you doing, sonny boy?" she asked. Jacob was at a loss for words. He quickly ran through the opening into the kitchen.
The card said to look for an oven with a sticker that said OBI on it. Jacob found it. The card said to turn the middle dial to the right for 10 seconds, then turn the right dial to the left for 15 seconds. When Jacob did this, the oven moved into the floor, leaving a huge square hole in the floor. An elevator came out of the hole, and Jacob got in. The card said hit the button that says BF17. Jacob hit that button and the elevator took him to a small room underground. Up above, the oven took its normal placing again. Jacob looked around the room he had been taken to.
It was a tiny office, and the only furniture was a desk, a computer and a few papers and pencils. A trash can sat in the corner, and a door led out of the room in the corner. Jacob left the room just as the elevator went back up. He was in a small carpeted hallway. Jacob rushed for one of the doors on the side wall. As soon as he swung it open, he knew it was a mistake. 5 men in black suits and dark sunglasses lunged for him. Jacob slipped out of their grasp and ran in wild circles around the room. This was just the right move. The men tripped over themselves trying to reach Jacob, and ended up in a heap.
Jacob took this opportunity to run out of the room and back into the small office he had started in. He felt around the wall, and finally found a button. The elevator button. The elevator came back, and Jacob hit the "TOP", button. The elevator went up, and went through the McDonalds again, where the workers paused to look quizzically yet again at Jacob. But the elevator kept going. A panel in the ceiling opened up, and the elevator rocketed up into the sky. A helicopter was hovering there, and the bottom of it opened up. The elevator went in.
Jacob was in the back of the helicopter. People all around him stopped what they were doing, and frantically tried to get Jacob. Jacob got out of the elevator as fast as possible, and began running around wildly, hoping this would be the right move again. It wasn't. The men grabbed Jacob, and pushed him up against one side of the helicopter. They duct taped him to the wall, and began asking him questions about what he knew. When he wouldn't respond, they taped him more. He still wouldn't respond. So they ignored him.
After 4 hours of being ignored, Jacob grew tired of being in the helicopter. "I'll talk!", he suddenly yelled. Everyone jumped. They finally went over to him. After another 2 hours of answering questions, the men said, "OK, now let's throw him from the helicopter!" "What?!" Jacob yelled. He was ripped from the wall, put in the elevator, and the men hit a button. Suddenly, the elevator was falling. But something was peculiar. Jacob looked out the glass panels, and saw that the rocket boosters were not on! He was falling!
Jacob frantically rammed his shoulder against the glass. It began to crack. And crack. Soon a web of cracks covered the glass. Jacob gave one final ram, and the glass shattered. Jacob leapt out. He landed on the roof of McDonalds. He hoped the panel in the ceiling of McDonalds would open. It never did. Jacob jumped over the side of the building just as the elevator smashed into the roof of McDonalds. "BAM!" There was a loud explosion, and Jacob squeezed his eyes shut. He opened them just when he was about to hit the hard concrete ground. He latched onto the brick wall of McDonalds.
Jacob hung for dear life, afraid to look down. But from where he was hanging, Jacob was only a foot above ground. When he finally looked down, he saw this, and let go. He hit the ground safely. People were evacuating McDonalds, clinging onto half-eaten Big Macs. Jacob looked up. The helicopter had fled the scene. Jacob knew the men would be back for him. Soon. For now, however, he had better get home...
Season 1 Book 3: The Hostage
Jacob Snider knew the OBI people were after him. And he knew he wasn't safe. But he didn't dare tell his parents, for fear that if they knew, the bad guys might harm them. He kept his lips sealed about his adventure. Besides, he didn't know much about OBI yet anyway. Why tell anything?
After living like this for a long time, Jacob felt a sense of security. The OBI men didn't seem to be coming after him. He would be fine. But something seemed fishy. His window was open in the morning, but he had never opened it. And his stuff had been moved. He decided to investigate.
Jacob stayed up late that night. He watched his now closed window. When he saw movement, he rolled off and then under his bed. He stared out from under the foot of his bed as the men from the plane climbed into his room. He watched them dig through his drawers and bookshelves. They then decided to look under the bed. 1 man on either side and one at the foot. They peered under the bed with bright flashlights. Jacob tried to curl up so they wouldn't notice him. It was no use. The men grabbed Jacob when they saw him, and they escaped back out the window with him. And off they drove.
Jacob was getting tired. Even through constant attempts to stay awake for his sake, he still dozed off.
