In nature, the geography of a place (like mountains and rivers) can pose challenges. There are many ways to overcome these challenges, such as building bridges, dams, canals, and tunnels.
Let's describe the structures people build to overcome these geographical challenges!
To describe these structures, we can use adjectives.
Adjectives are words that describe a noun.
The green trees
The long bridge
They can describe height, color, size, number, or quality.
Rivers can be long, wide, and move very fast.
They are challenging for people to travel across.
Bridges are man-made structures connecting one side of land to the other. They can be metal or wooden, big or small, and can extend over rivers, lakes, or cliffs.
Some bridges are long, and have tall towers or arches. They are strong and sturdy, and built for cars to drive on.
Some pedestrian bridges can be short and sometimes wobbly or not sturdy.
Sometimes, water levels in a river can be very high and the river might be full. Therefore, people might need to divert the water.
