Part 1 : Cycles of Death
Hi my name is Artemis, well most people know me by the title Amser Moon, the dangerous outlaw. But, right now I'm under disguise as Artemis. As I told you, I'm an outlaw. I steal from banks, houses, the streets, you name it. Oh, and anyone who gets in my way is usually sent to the hospital. Now, most people think that when you die, you go to heaven and meet God, but I beg to differ. You see, I've lived many cycles of death, and I've experienced dying over, and over again. Everyone relives their death in parallel universes. You relive your death over and over again. Pretty simple right? Ya, it gets more complicated. You're born the same way and you die the same way, But tiny details change. For example, when I was murdered, each time I was killed, I died from a different weapon, until I met Alyth of course, but we'll get to that later.
Wow, I really need to start telling the real story. Well then, once upon a ti-
Nah, that's too fairy tale and this story isn't a fairy tail. Now then, I was a 17 year old when it happened. I had dark brown chocolate hair that was tied back into a pony-tail with a few strands of silver hair that was braided and hidden inside the depth of my long brown hair. I wore a black hoodie with blue jean shorts, and underneath my sweater I wore a tie-die shirt. I am always prepared for danger by carrying a dagger in my boot.
That's enough about me, now let's get into the good part. I was off to rob a rich person's house. Those were just some of the people that were looking for me. I needed to be quiet and make sure that the people living in the house didn't see or hear me. I broke open a small window that was big enough for me to go through and landed in the living room. I was creeping up the stairs when I realized there was a loose board. Oops, too late. "WHO'S THAT?!" a man yelled from the kitchen. I looked around frantically, but there was nowhere to hide. I ran up the stairs three at a time, not caring about
how much noise I made and slipped into a room that was filled with gold. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. I didn't have much time before... Ahh! It hurt so much! Searing pain flooded my senses as I fell to my knees and then to the ground, flat on my back. I looked up and saw a man. He was wearing a blood splattered apron, with long jean pants, and a white t-shirt. His eyes where crazy and he had a wicked smile on his face. He had light brown hair with a matching light brown beard. He bent down with the bloody kitchen knife in his hand and whispered, "Born an outlaw, die an outlaw" before he stabbed me in gut again. The pain was unbearable, I thought I would die from pain, instead of blood loss. My head fell to the floor and I was dead.
Now, I know what you're going to say ,"Oh come on, you're obviously not dead because if you were dead you wouldn't have written this book." This is where the whole, I relive my life thing comes in. I was born again. I was still
the same baby who liked to pickpocket, the same kid who no adults trusted, the same teen who robed people, and the same woman who plotted mischief. I relived my whole life up until the point I was murdered and I had absolutely no memory of my past lives! The only thing that changed was the weapon I was killed with. The first time it was a kitchen knife, then a pocketknife, then a chainsaw, then a dagger, and then finally, it was another dagger, but this was one different, it was magical.
When I was stabbed and the dagger touched my blood, I didn't feel any pain. I ripped it out of me and stared up at the strange man. He had a surprised look on his face and was staring at the hole in my stomach. "How?" he asked. "I don't know," I responded. I looked down at the dagger and all my memories came rushing back to me. My past lives, the parallel universes, and the cycles of death. I understood how to change my past. I even learned how slugs protect themselves (trust me, you don't want to
know). I learned about everything in the universe in a second. I also noticed the hole in my stomach had closed up. Smoke appeared from the dagger, and a snow fox emerged as if it had been released from imprisonment. The fox looked at me and crossed his arms. "Seriously? I get called out of the dagger by this piece of trash?!" "Hey, watch your big mouth! Wait, did you just talk?!" I asked in shock.
Like magic, the fox transformed into a boy my age in front of me. He had long blond hair that was shaped like a mohawk with big chunks sitting on his forehead (If you've ever watched Pokemon sun and moon, he looked exactly like Gladion). He wore the same black hoodie that I wore and black ripped jeans. "BEHOLD, GUARDIAN OF ALYTH, YUKIU- " he started before he tripped on the carpet and fell flat on his face. "Oh, come on!" he exclaimed looking up at the sky, even though there was a ceiling above us. "I tried and you just had to make me slip. You're a dirty player, mom." "Who?!" the strange man asked.
I said at the same time. "My name's Yukiuta," he said, getting up. "Can I call you Yuki?" I asked. "Fine," he agreed. "Now, hold my hand." "Why would I ever hold your hand?!" I questioned. "So, we can get out of here," he said slowly as if he was talking to a child. "Good reason," I replied. "Hey, where do you think you're going?!" yelled the strange man, realizing we were going to escape. "None of your business!" Yuki yelled back. "Now, if you'll excuses us, this girl has a hand to hold." I quickly grabbed his hand and suddenly we were being transported somewhere through some sort of magical portal. We were only inside the portal for a few seconds, but it felt like forever.
"So, your name is Amser?" he asked when we got out. "Sh!!! Someone might hear you!" I whispered frantically. "Who would hear me?" he asked. I looked around and saw that there was no one around for miles. We weren't far though, we were still in Luric, but near the outskirt of town. We were
standing beside a bench that was under a twisted Sakura tree. Was it just me or was something not right here? Romantic bench under a Sakura tree? I mean, seriously! The dude calls me a piece of trash and then, brings me to the most romantic corner of Luric! I realized I was still holding his hand and quickly let go. "Am I that bad?" he asked sadly. "Ya, you are," I replied flatly. So, if I can't call you Amser then what can I call you?" he asked. "Wait, how do you know my name?" I questioned him confused. "I come from the dagger made specifically for your bloodline, I know everything about you," he declared. "You know about Asher then?" I asked unhopefully. Yuki looked puzzled, "No, I don't remember him. Hey! Answer my question first. If I can't call you Amser, then what can I call you?" he asked. I thought about it for a minute. "What about, Artemis? The Angel of the Moon and Animals?" I responded. "Artemis...I like it," Yuki said happily.
Part 2 : Luric Mythology
Oh, shoot! I got so caught up with telling you my story that I forgot to tell you the main part, our mythology. To understand what I'm going to be telling you, you have to know a little bit about our history. It is similar to what you might read in Greek mythology, but the biggest difference is that there are no males in power, there is only one Goddess who is female. Our Goddess, Chole is the magical goddess of... Chocolate! I know Chloe must have a sweet tooth. Chloe had children who were responsible for each part of humanity. They are in the following order from oldest to youngest:
1. High and Luna (twins) - Angels of Wisdom, Strength, Love, and Marriage
2. Dalila and Dafidale (twins) - Angels of Nature and Agriculture
3. Clerese - Angel of Hate and War
4. Appin and Artemis (twins) - Angels of the Sun and Moon.
5. Alyth - Angel of weapons
6. Yukiuta - Angel of Portals
7. Atlanter - Angel of Peace
Wow, there were more than I thought. Now, those are the most important information that you should know. I could have gone on for hours about our mythology, but we don't have that kind of time to spend. "This is stupid," I told him, trudging my feet behind me. We were now walking back towards the town and it was taking too long! Yuki was distracting me from the long walk ahead by talking about the mysterious dagger. It was strange, this one didn't even make a dent that stayed. Maybe now this meant I could somehow change my past which would change my future? Could I finally get out of this cycle of death? "A portal opens up every thousand years on a full moon and it is only during this time that you will be alter your past. Your family is the only one to have the power to enter these portals. if anyone else tried they'd destroy the multiverses. If you follow specific rules and get the tools that you
need ready before the portal appears, you will be able to enter this portal and change what you want to. One thing to remember is that you can only change your past, and no one else's. When this portal opens, you are on your own. The rest is up to you," Yuki warned. I stood there overwhelmed. "Wow, that's a lot to remember," I said, laughing nervously. "Here is everything you need to know," he replied reassuringly and handed me a scroll that read :
1. Get some of your family's blood and the bone of a skeleton.
2. Melt both these items in a pot over a fire and let it set under the bright full moon.
3. Next, use the Alyth to take some of your blood and wipe it on an amulet.
4. Then, find a mirror big enough to fit you and touch the blood covered amulet on a mirror.
