The first thing that happened was that Carol's father had to go on a business trip and he died when he returned to hong kong. After what happened Carol cried for weeks, she was very sad and even stopped doing her college work. Then Carol begins to go out with other friends different from her old ones, her mother told her not to join them, but Carol ignored her. Carol did not know that her new friends were taking drugs so she influenced her friends and started taking drugs. As a consequence, some children were taken away by the police for taking drugs and they expelled Carol from the study center and her mother decided to return to England.

Well, after what happened in Hong Kong, Carol and her mother return to England. There, during the summer period, the two look at several of the famous places, but then came the sorrow that Carol had to look for a college and her mother had to look for a job, that's what they look in the newspaper "secretary wanted for the summer months in a small island in scotland, with good pay", later they meet the daughter of the man who published the ad, Greta Ross, she takes the two of them to the island and there Carol realizes that . Ross does not like visitors, and when he meets him he feels that he is hiding something in this island.

In the next chapter Carol will probably start working as a gardener and as a farmer to help her mom earn extra money, but as the days go by she realizes that Mr. Ross is acting strangely and little by little she is following him discover his secret, leading him to discover a kind of secret room where he keeps some dark secret from his past and uncover another great mystery.

My favorite scene is when Carol hears a strange noise in the hallway at night in her dress and sees Mr. Ross locking the door in which Carol looked at the strange figure, and she manages to see that Mr. Ross does not keep the room key in his pocket if not that he hides it behind a flowerpot that was next to the door.

My favorite scene It was when Carol was taking photos on the island and when she was going to take a picture of the house, Mr. Ross appeared and since he had the policy of not taking photos of him Mr. Duncan came and took the roll of photograph from Carol's camera .

Favorite Character

My favorite character in this story is Carol since she has proven to be a character with various attributes, she is intelligent, sentimental, cheerful, curious and hardworking, we could say that Carol is a role model, and not only that she also she loves helping people, she is friendly, she cares about things that happen and she does not like to see people suffer.

My favorite character in this story is Carol's mother, since in the first chapters Carol's mother supports her daughter not to be badly influenced by her friends and told her to return to England to have a new life.
