Once upon a time, there lived a mummy spider and a daddy spider. Mummy and Daddy lived in a human's house (in a hole), which was a very dangerous place to be living. One evening, mummy had a baby. Mummy and daddy were so happy! But they were scared for their baby.

“How can our baby be safe!” exclaimed mummy one day,
“We live in a human’s house!”
“There is nothing to fear!” replied daddy patting mummy on the back. “But when she gets older she’ll want to explore the house and then she will get caught!” said mummy huffing and puffing. Mummy and daddy named their little baby, Muffet.

Muffet soon grew older (now 6) and like mummy had said she wanted to explore the house.
“But mummy, why do we have to stay in this little boooring hole!” She complained one day. “I want to explore this huge house!” said Muffet eagerly.
“NO!” replied mummy and daddy. “They are very dangerous!”
But nothing was going to stop Muffet from exploring the huge, colossal house.

The day had finally arrived and Muffet was going to explore the house at the dead of night. But she was not prepared for what was about to happen.
As she glided down the huge stairs, she felt like she was safe because it was night. But just then, she saw the little girl who lived in the house. Muffet was so scared. She knew that the huge girl would scream and tell her parents. But why on earth was the girl awake in the middle of night?

Well for Muffet, it was the middle of the night, but for the humans it was morning and everyone had woken up.
“Oh no!”, said Muffet.“Oh my goodness!”
“If I go at my night my parents will be asleep and the humans will be awake! If I go at their night, the humans will be asleep and my parents will be awake!” she moaned “Why can’t we just have the same night!” she shrieked.

Oh No!
Finally she reached the end of the stairs. She slowly tiptoed on the floor. Just then the little girl caught sight of a spider. A very hairy spider.
“AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!”, she shrieked “Sssssspppppiiiiiidddddeeeerrrr!”, she yelled, as she ran to tell her parents.
“I’m done for!”, said Muffet.
Muffet hadn’t been more scared in all her life.

The little girl's parents put Muffet in an orange bowl. Now Muffet was trapped!
“Mummy!” yelled Muffet “Daddy!”
But her parents were asleep. Fast Asleep.
Muffet was on a table, under the bowl. She pushed and pushed and pushed until the bowl tipped over
“I’m free!”, she yelped, surprised and proud of herself.

Oh No!
After all that Muffet had been through she still wanted to explore! So she carried on her adventure. The little girl noticed the spider has escaped because the bowl was tipped over.
“Mummy! Daddy! The spider has escaped! It will kill me!”, she shrieked with a hasty tone in her voice.

Muffet saw the huge kitchen, the biggest bed in the world and a lot of food! She tiptoed into the fridge and saw all sorts of colourful things!
There were orange balls, red triangles with little black dots in them, red things that are shaped a bit like a flower and little green things that also come in red.

All of these foods looked so amazing! She began with the red triangles with little black dots in them. Then the orange balls, next the red things that are shaped a bit like a flower and finally the little green things that also come in red. They were like nothing she had ever eaten before! The flavours were like nothing she had ever tried and the colours were the most vibrant thing in the world!
"How I wish I could have this food everyday.", Muffet Sighed.

Just then, the little girl's mother opened the fridge. She saw Muffet slowly munching on the last morsel of the apple
“All my fruits!” shrieked the little girl's mother.
Now Muffet realised she was being watched. Watched by the most enormous living thing in the world.
“Oh my god!” said Muffet. “Oh my goodness!” she said staring at the alien.
