Chapter One
So hi I'm back. Losing Jamie was kind of devastating, but I guess training just made me forget my sadness and turn it into determination! So yeah diary you shall be filled up with the adventures of hopefully rescuing Jamie!
.................................................................................................................................................
"You'll never beat me Celestine!" shouted Rachel.
"YOU SHALL DIE!" I shouted back as I sent a ark of water that slammed Rachel into the wall. She groaned sat up and grinned.
"Oh well," she said "You win for the 27th time." she said.
"Yep well-OH GOSH!" I said "It's 10:00 A.M. and time for your sword classes with Kyle and my classes to control my water powers."
"Good thing you remebered, Thanks!" yelled Rachel as ran of to class.
I smiled, shook my head, and ran off to class. It had been 2 months since Jamie had been captured. We had decided when Rachel turned 14 we would go to find Jamie. I was already 14 and Rachel's birthday was in 1 week. Delilah would turn 10 in 2 months. 5 days after Jamie's 9th birthday. I held back tears for the millionth time and got through class. By now I was basicly a pro in controlling water, it just came naturally now. And it would have to take an IMMENSE amount of power to make me tired. Rachel was a great with her sword and even with 8 castle gaurds fighting her she could disarm all of them. Delilah who planned to help us get back Jamie could now shapeshift with lightning speed. We were definetly ready.
One Week Later....
"Everyone ready," I said looking around at Thunder, Delilah and Rachel. They all nodded "Then let's go!" and we set of on our journey to find Jamie.
We had decided long ago that we would go to the desert since there were not a lot of animals there and Derkaz was smart. We were about to start walking when Rachel stopped.
"Wait!" she said.
"Why?" I replied.
"I, well I can use the stars to navigate." said Rachel "And it just feels like we should go to the jungle of fwampshy. Deep in the jungle excactly 71 miles from where we are standing."
"That makes sense," said Thunder "Only monsters reside in the dark jungle."
"Well then," I said "lets go there I guess. Now we have a actual lead."
Chapter Two
We had been walking along at a steady pace with Delilah and Thunder scouting ahead. We had'nt had any run ins with monsters yet since we were too close to Fantasy City. We sat down to eat lunch then kept going. Soon it became hot and humid. A few trees started sprouting up. I froze some water and gave it to the others. I pressed the ice to my forhead to keep cool. Mosquitos and nats flew around with an annoying buzz. I wished Derkaz had chosen the desert instead. At nightfall the trees had grown so thick we had to go single file to get through them. It was Thunder, Delilah, Rachel, then me. Then I heard something. I turned but saw nothing. I kept going.... Then the trees rustled behind me. I turned.
"What was that?" I said. The others turned too.
"I heard something too." said Thunder. We all went back to back. We found ourselves in a clearing but the trees grew in a thicket above.
"CR-RACK!" we turned to the sudden sound. There, 20 feet above the ground was a GIANT spider on a giant spiderweb. It seemed to know it was discovered because about 30 more spiders apeared. None of them were as big as the first, about 5 feet tall. But they were still very deadly. They were arachtopods or code word for really-giant-spiders-that-are-poisenas-and-like-to- eat-humans. We spread out in a circle. Then we attacked. Rachel sliced her sword through 3 of them. They froze then toppled over like all monsters did when they were killed. Delilah clawed at there eyes in bird form then turned into a fox and struck them down. 1 then 2 then 5. Thunder clawed at them but the spider struck him aside and clicked its pincers wanting a good meal. I lunged and willed the water to ark toward the spider it turned into ice halfway there and the spider toppled to the ground.
"Nice!" yelled Rachel as she leapt onto the spiders back and stabbed downward. She lept of of the spider just as it crashed to the ground. 3 spiders had cornered Delilah. She swiped at one and it froze but the other ones advanced. She swiped another one just as the last arachtopod bit her. Delilah's eyes widened and she turned a deathly pale. Then she collapsed. I willed the water from the murkey swamp to lash at the arachnopod, it froze. About 10 more arachnopods were still alive. A slashed the water at two. And Rachel swung her sword at 2 more. Out of nowhere a spider knocked Rachel 10 feet into the air and she fell to the ground and didn't move. Thunder slashed at 3 more and I finished of the last 2 with an ark of ice.
"I'm okay..." Rachel spluttered. She tried to sit up but fell over. "I can help Jamie." I gave her a puzzled look. "The stars," she said "They heal at night if I use power. Use starlight power." Then she fell over.
Me and Thunder tried to help Delilah while Rachel rested. We would wake her up the second the stars could be seen. That would happen in about 10 minutes. Until then me and Thunder dabbed water on her forehead and we trickled water into her mouth. She was still breathing but her face was a chalky white. But where the arachnopod had bit her; right on her left forearm had a greenish tinge. Finally the stars came up and Rachel groaned and got up.
"Okay," she said "Oh ancestors of the stars please heal Delilah. Give me your power the stardust. Give...." she seemed to be very tired. A lavender glow spread around her. Her hands glowed blue and she rested them on Delilah's arm. Slowly Delilah skin turned from green and white to just slightly pale. Rachel collapsed just as Delilah sat up. Her eyes were wide with fear.
"Don't come near me...." she said then she started to glow.
Chapter Three
It hadn't even be a day and I had walked 15 miles, fought 30 arachnopods, saved my friend from dying, and almost died 3 times. What a day! Well then just GREAT. Delilah started to glow. Just my normal day la-di-da-di-da! Well yeah Delilah started to glow then she went into battle mode straight at us. She punched at us but she seemed like a ragdoll moving through water. Her punches were slugish and moved super slowly. But slowly they got faster. Thunder and I doged her blows but didn't want to hurt her.
"What is- AHHH-OWW!" Delilah had punched me right in the chest. It hit me with surprising force. I was thrown back 10 feet and skidded to a stop at a base of a tree and hit my head SUPER hard. "happening..." I finished. My vision was blurry everything was going dim.
"Get-your-dumb-butt-up!" yelled Thunder through gritted teeth as he pounced on Delilah trying to tackle her to the ground but not hurt her. I sat up my vision was starting to focus. I struggled to my feet, but my head exploded with pain and I almost collapsed.
"Yeowch." I muttered. I staggered forward.
"Hurry!" yelled Thunder as Delilah knocked him backwards off her chest. Thunder flew head over heels but landed on his feet. And slid back 10 feet before stopping. Dust billowed up in the air. Rachel was still only half concious from the effort of healing. Delilah ran at me.
"Sorry!" I yelled then with the last of my power I willed the water to splash onto Delilah's face. She spluttered and looked around wildly. Then in a haze of pain I clutched my head then collapsed as a wave of black spread over my eyes. My last thought concious thought was about pickles, Jamie's favorite food.
It was like my dream with Thunder. I was standing in a tower overlooking a dense jungle. In the corner of the room sat Jamie. I tried to talk but couldn't.
"Oh it worked!" said Jamie looking exaughsted. But otherwise he looked fine. "I was able to conntact you." I nodded and Jamie continued "I only have a short amount of time so don't interuppt." I nodded again "I am going to escape this place I have been planning for 2 weeks. If you guys don't come in 5 days, I am going to escape." He had a wild look in his eyes. "I'll try to heal you but it's hard to do during a dream. Sorry. Truly." Then the dream faded.
.................................................................................................................................................
I groaned and sat up. My head didn't hurt anymore which was good. It looked about 5 am in the morning because the sun was just visable. Thunder was keeping watch as always he didn't sleep. Delilah was sleeping but Rachel was awake talking to Thunder. I walked over to them.
"-was really dangerous." Rachel was saying.
"I am not telling you, you would never believe it, besides-" Thunder was cut off by me.
"Tell us." I demanded "Come on! We saved your hide." Rachel nodded vigerously. Thunder breathed deeply. And muttered something under his breath.
"Fine..." he grumbled "Derkaz is the master of darkness and monsters as you know." We nodded and Thunder continued "5,000 years ago this happened. At the beginning of Fantasy City Derkaz arose from the earth to terrorize the world. That was the first time. 3 heros saved the world from it's horrible fate but before Derkaz was trapped in his cage of pure light he promised he would rise again. And he did. 2,337 years ago he rose only to be defeated again. But 3 is the luckiest number and he thinks he will win. And I think he has managed to rise hypnomalum who can control any human and only human."
"He's controling Delilah!" said Rachel.
"I fear that." said Thunder "But we are not close enough for it to be strong. I think if Delilah stays in animal form she will be alright since hypnomalum can only control humans." we nodded in agreement.
"What do you want me to do?" said Delilah who was awake now.
"We think," I said "That you are being controled by Derkaz's most trusted servant, Hypnomalum. The only way you can stay safe is if you stay in animal form at all times." Delilah raised an eyebrow. She looked so grown up for a 9 year old almost 10 because she was quite small for her age.
"Okay?" said Delilah "I think I can do that... I'll try." We nodded and Delilah turned into a fox. We ate and packed up. We started just as the sun rose over the trees. We didn't know exactly how deep the dark jungle was but Rachel estimated it was about 53 miles farther.
We walked through trees under logs and around swamps. At midday we sat down to eat lunch. We had bread and cheese and cider. Gnats swarmed around us and landed trying to land on our food. It was sweltering hot too. The sun shone throw the thick canopy of trees and into our clearing. We finally packed up and started to walk again. The gnats followed us and we kept trying to swat them away. When my hand connected with one it felt metalic...
"You guys.." I said "Do these gnats seem a little weird?"
"I know," said Rachel. "They seem a little like robots." Delilah jumped into the air in her fox form and swatted at them. She got them but they just flew on lazily.
"I don't think these are-" that was the last thing that Thunder got out. The gnats swarmed around us then everything went black.
Chapter Four
"Gosh Flower," said a childish voice "You REALLY messed up!"
"It wasn't my fault Arbor!" said a high pitched voice. "You added the flutter powder it must have made the potion in the gnats malfunction!"
"Sure it did," said the person who must have been Arbor in a mocking voice. "You said 'just add a little bit of flitting powder. That should keep them asleep for a day' Well what do you know it kept them asleep for 2 days."
"See, see!" said Flower "You proved my point you put in FLUTTER powder, NOT FLITTING poweder." They kept argueing but I was trying to remember what happened. Right the gnats they had bit us then. Where was I... I opened my eyes slightly. I hung upside down stuck to a wall with spiderwebs. Delilah, Rachel, and Thunder were next to me. And we were in a small hut.
The people argueing were giant crocdiles? They looked the same except the girl had blond hair braided down her back. They were the most rediculous monsters ever until they saw me, that is.
"He sis," said the Arbor when he spotted me. "It worked." A grin was spreading across his face.
"What are you-" then she saw me "Oh yeah I know it worked! Of course that was because of my genius." She batted her eyelashes. Ugh.
"LET'S TAKE OUT THE SPIDER!" yelled Arbor. Delilah, Rachel, and Thunder woke up to his voice. They looked around wildly but then seemed to understand.
"Why, you idiot." said Flower "Now look what you've done! We could have killed them silently for the Boss but now we gotta fight them!"
"What are you talking about sis?" said Arbor "There still trapped." Flower rolled her eyes.
"Fine," said Flower "Take out the giant spider." Immedietly we struggled against our bonds. Rachel's sword was on the table across the room so we couldn't cut our bonds. Then I had an idea.
"Delilah trans-" but the spiderwebs crept further up my mouth so I couldn't talk. Thankfully Delilah understood. She turned into a fox and slashed at her bonds. They broke instantly. Arbor and Flower screamed in rage as Delilah cut the rest of us free. Rachel grabbed her sword and lept at Arbor hitting him in the head. He froze and crumpled to the ground. Thunder lunged at Flower but she snapped at him and Thunder was forced to jump out of the way. I wanted to help but Delilah and I had other problems. The Spider had come out. It had eight red eyes. Wait was this...
"OH MY!" said Thunder as he slashed at Flower finally reducing her to a pile on the floor "That's the 8 eyed nightmare. King of spiders..."
Great I was correct. Its eyes zapped lazers that killed you, hypono rays, or paralizim depending on what it wanted to happen to you. Apperantly it was in the mood for death.
"Oh great," said Rachel dodging lazer and jumping onto the back of the spider "I hate spiders." The spider did not like have a human on its back. It ran onto the ceiling and Rachel was forced to drop back onto the ground. We rolled, jumped, and slashed but we couldn't get a clear shot. All we could do was dodge. Soon the spider started shooting paralis rays and it was a good thing he did because a ray slammed into Thunder and he toppled to the floor stiff as a board. The Spider clicked with excitment which gave me just enough time to will a wall of water to slam into the spider making it fall to the ground. Rachel stabbed downword onto the spider and Delilah sliced at him with her claws. Then something quite unsettleling happened.
The spider turned to dust and flew out the window heading straight to the west. We stood there in awe.
"Help..." said Thunder through clenched teeth. He was still completly still. Rachel closed her eyes and slowly Thunder regained movement.
"Why," Delilah demanded "Did that Spider do whatever that ding-dong magic was???"
"Derkaz..." he said "is messing up monsters deaths. He did this last time now the monsters go back to him once they are killed..."
"Not. Good. At. All." said Rachel.
"Well," I said "We have been out for 2 days. We NEED to get going."
"We still have seven days." said Delilah "What's the rush? Well yeah I guess we should get to Jamie as soon as possible."
"It seems about noon." said Thunder "So we can travel till night."
"Okay," I said uncertaintly "Let's get going." As we walked out of the hut I knew there was something I had forgotten but I couldn't put my finger on it.
"It seems like we are still going West." muttered Rachel. "We are a little farther. AH here we are. Okay," said Rachel in a normal voice "We are 51 miles from where Derkaz is keeping Jamie."
"Great," said Thunder "They didn't carry us that farther away." We walked on listening to the birds and strange noises of the unknown creatures. It was about 5 in the evening when it got eriely silent. Then we heard whispers.
"So close," they said "Come here."
"What was that?" I said. We looked around nervously and took out ore weapons. Rachel her sword, me my water, and Thunder and Delilah sharpning there claws. Then very unexpectidly the trees moved and swept us into the air.
"Finally," cackled the tree a face popping out of the trunk "We got peoples!" And all the other trees started laughing.
