I used to think that technology in the classroom was restricted to PowerPoint presentations and educational YouTube videos.

Now I think that there are many ways technology can be used by the teacher or the students to facilitate learning in a class.

Google productivity tools will allow me and my students to complete online quizzes or forms for school, collaborate on projects and provide instant feedback on their writing, analyze data, or create slide show presentations about a topic.

Concept mapping is useful when planning a lesson because you can visualize how all of the parts of your lesson help you to meet the required standards.

I can use WeVideo and Flipgrid to create videos to demonstrate concepts to my students in an interesting way. My students can also use these tools to create a video assessment about a topic to show their understanding.

Animated videos and cartoons can also help me to demonstrate concepts to my students in ways that will capture their interest. These tools can also be used by students to demonstrate their knowledge or opinions about certain topics.

Visual storytelling is a fun and interesting way to create a narrative about a topic that students are interested in. We could collaborate on a story as a class or create them individually highlighting what each of us think is important about a certain concept.

Assistive technology can be very useful in helping students with disabilities be able to learn and engage in a classroom setting with peers. There are assistive technologies to help with almost every challenge a student could face.

I used to think that creating a lesson plan wasn't important. You just give students the material and then test them on it to see how well they learned the material.

Now I think that creating a well thought out lesson plan can greatly increase my students' knowledge of the material as well as engage them and ensure long-term recollection of the knowledge.
