1760 - 1840
Industrialization was significant because it generated employment and educational opportunities, encouraged advancement and innovation, and better utilized resources. It impacts the future because now, there are countless jobs, so much educational opportunity, and more. One term that describes this is industry. It impacted westward expansion by letting people know that if they moved out west, they knew that they would be able to find a job and education because of industrialization.
Westward Expansion
1803
Westward expansion was important because it doubled the nations size of land that they had at that time. That allowed more people to live in the U.S., without being very crowded. It impacted the future because we still have it today instead of it being another country's territory. President Jefferson is a key term in this. It impacted immigration because it gave more land and space for everyone to live in.
Immigration
1815 - 1865
Immigration was significant because it gave so many people a "new life", a chance to start over again, and it had a huge impact on them. It also helped grow the U.S. as a new nation, which is how it impacted the future. We are one of the biggest, if not the biggest, nation in the world! Immigrants are a key term in this. It impacted the Progressive Movement because the movement was all for them. The movement wouldn't have happened, or at least not like it did, if there were no immigrants.
