Something was different. Today, boy didn't leave me to go to Kindergarten at his big boy school like the 120 days that came before it.
Today he didn't toss me aside during his mad rush out the door. Today he picked me up, took me downstairs, and sat me on the white dining room table. He opened up mommy's pink laptop and there on the screen was boy's teacher and all of boy's classmates.
They all giggled and made silly faces at one another. There was loads of laughter. It was a good morning! I welcomed this change!

I figured boy would leave me to go back to school tomorrow, or the next day, or the next, but he never did. Each day began like the day before it. Dining room table, mommy's pink laptop, giggles, and laughter.

Now my boy and I had extra time for daily adventures.
On Monday, boy took me on a scavenger hunt to find insects!
On Tuesday, boy took me to collect rocks and then boy painted them with his little sister.
On Wednesday, boy did a science experiement and made a volcanic explosion!
On Thursday, boy took me outside to run in the sprinklers.
On Friday, boy got up the courage to take his training wheels off and ride his bike ALL BY HIMSELF!! I was so proud of him.
All this time together with my boy was so fun. We were closer than ever before.

One day, I noticed boy was upset and frusterated. I felt his tears fall on my tatterted corners. He missed seeing his friends. He missed going to school. He missed the playground and the swimming pools. He missed playing baseball with his team. He even missed having his 6th Birthday party at the theme park.

Boy held on to me tighter each night and kept me close during each day. It made me happy to keep by boy's side day and night. He had kept by my side the past 2,190 days.
