The US Constitution is a document of laws that help the people      that run our country to do their job well and keep us safe.

The preamble of the Constitution is the introduction. Let's take                                    a closer look at it!

The first part of the first line of the Constitution is...

                     "We the People"

This line is talking about the people that were living in                           the United States!

               The second part is...

"in Order to form a more perfect Union"

This line means that they want to be better. They want                           to improve our country!

    The third part is...

    "establish justice"

Justice means fairness. The leaders of our country want to make sure that we are treated fairly and equally!

        The fourth part is...

 "insure domestic Tranquility"

   Tranquility means peace. This line means that our         countries leaders want us to have 'peace at home.' 

           The fifth part is...

"provide for the common defense"

This means that our countries leaders will provide recourses and people in the government to help resolve                       our conflicts with others!

        The sixth part is...

"promote the general Welfare"

This means that our countries leaders want to keep us                               safe and healthy!
