It all began one summer day, the sun was smiling, the birds were chirping, and Buddy the dog was getting hungry.  Buddy was craving a fruit smoothie, so he walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge and.... UH OH! There was no fruit in the refrigerator. Buddy is as hungry as a hippo! What is he going to do? "I know", Buddy says, "I will go buy some fruit at the grocery store" and off he went. 

Buddy got in his car and made his way to the grocery store. He passed the church along the way, where he saw his friend Oliver planting flowers.

Pup-Smart

Buddy arrived at the grocery store. He needs to buy 2 bananas, 3 apples, 4 cherries, 5 pears, 6 oranges and 7 strawberries to make his favorite famous fruit smoothie. 

Isle 27- Fruit 

Buddy took a shopping cart and made his was to the fruit isle. He saw everything he needed to make his fruit smoothie.

Buddy got 2 bananas and put them in his shopping cart. He grabbed 1 apple, but he needs 3. How many more apples does Buddy need to add to his shopping cart to have 3 in all?

Buddy needs to add 2 more apples to his shopping cart to have 3 in all because 1+2=3. 

Buddy continued to shop for the fruit he needed for his smoothie. He got the right amount of bananas, apples and cherries. But he noticed he didn't have the right amount of pears and oranges. Can you help Buddy get the right amount?

If Buddy needs 5 pears in all, does he have the right amount for his smoothie? Count and see. 

Buddy has 6 pears. He needs to put 1 back on the shelf because he has too many. Buddy puts 1 pear back because he knows 6-1=5.

Buddy checked over his shopping list to see what else he needed to get. He put stars next to each item that he had finished getting. All Buddy has left to get is 6 oranges and 7 strawberries. Let's help him so he can hurry home to make his fruit smoothie.
