Once upon a time, there was a family of kind
hearted Dragons; Pringle's family. Pringle
and his family loved to work together; they played
together, and prayed together.Pringle's Mother
loved them deeply and taught them to share and to
be kind to one another. His Father taught them how
to pray. His Grandparents listened and loved them all
with great devotion.
Pringle's older sisters and brother taught Pringle
how to swim, to climb and to forage for roots and
berries, fruit and seeds. His brother,Nyack, was fun
to play with. Pringle loved Nyack with all his
heart.Nyack was a warm hearted brother and he was
always fair.

Forever; so is yours.

Pringle's family lived near a lake where they worked
and played. He cavorted in the water, rocks and hills
with his brother Dragon Nyack. They laughed and joked
while they worked and foraged.Nyack encouraged him
to stay out of trouble and to be careful to do what he
was told. Nyack shared Pringle's chores. They played
with a pureness of heart and they knew that they could
confide their deepest secrets to one another. And they
often did.
Pringle's family spoke of their deepest dreams and
about Pringle growing up. Pringle enjoyed these chats
most of all! Sometimes they would float out into in the
lake and talk about their future together. Pringle wanted
to grow up to be just like his Dad.

One day a terrible twirling whirling tornado swept the
lake and Pringle and his family ran to take cover. They
each ran to the nearest cave or rock. Pringle hid his
face from the storm in a cave nearby. He was scared
when the earth seemed to shake and move. The
tornado swept the bushes around and away. It lifted
the trees and made a great noise. Pringle crept deep
into the dark cave.In the excitement Pringle did not see
where his family went. Then when the storm was over
and Pringle came out, he could not find his family. The
storm had swept them away!
He searched everywhere for them. He looked for hours
and days and weeks. Pringle was very sad and lonely.
The storm had taken his family and swept them away.

Pringle was alone. At least he seemed to be alone.
Pringle searched far and wide for his family. He
wandered to the borders of the leafy forest and
across the lake to the magic mushroom meadow.
Pringle searched for them down in the rocky
reaches of the mountains, the deep dark forest. It
was scary searching all alone. He missed his
Grandparents and his folks, but he remembered
how they had coached him, and prayed with him.
He took heart and prayed and tried to be
courageous. In prayer Pringle felt comforted. He
remembered their shared dreams.

Pringle was lonely without his Mother and Father,
without his sisters and big brother Nyack. Without his
Nanna and Poppa to listen to him and share his ideas
and sorrows, joys and dreams. He almost lost hope. It
made him sad. He felt sad and a little scared.
Pringle prayed. He prayed that his family would find
him. He prayed that they would be together again just
as lovingly as before the storm. Prayer gave him hope.
Pringle did not give up!He kept searching for his family.
Pringle ate nearby roots and herbs all alone. He slept all
alone, and he swam all alone. Pringle dreamed of
finding his family. In his dreams; Pringle seemed
happy.

One day, when Pringle was very cold and sad he
decided that he would have to be brave and walk along
the forbidden path that led past the city and the ocean;
the only place where he had not searched. His Father,
he remembered; had told him that he should not go
near the city of the Emperor along this path. Pringle
remembered his Poppa's stories of how unfair the
Emperor was, and how his Nanna had always cautioned
him to honor his parent's wishes.
Pringle thought perhaps the Emperor might know
where his family went. So, Pringle started out in the
rain.
The path ahead forked; and Pringle had a decision to
make. Fortunately, the sun soon came out and warmed
Pringle's wet shingled little body.

Pringle thought deeply as he ambled along in the
sunshine. He thought about what his Father and
Grandfather had said about the Emperor.
Finally, Pringle made his decision to go toward the
ocean and NOT near the city. It felt right. It cheered
Pringle to know that he had made the right choice. He
already felt relieved and thankful. He had a long way to
go but now he had a song in his heart, and a happy
feeling.

Pringle was happy to feel the warmth of the sunshine
on his body too; so he began to purr; just like he had
always done when he was happy. As he purred the warm
wind dried his young silver wings and neck. He stretched
up as high as he could to see the ocean
along the far reaches of the windy path. Pringle could
see the ocean and the furry gray pussy willows bending
in the breeze along the valley Glen; just below. The
Willows seemed to purr in the rushing wind. It was as if
the pussy willows were waving; beckoning to him.
Pringle ran down through the Willow Glen. The soft Gray
Willow branches grazed his ears. They reminded him of
his Father's guiding glance; his family's warm embrace.
This memory made his heart feel hopeful.
