It is a beautiful sunny afternoon. 

The sky is blue and there is a gentle breeze. 

With just a few clouds in the sky.

The children are busy playing at the park. Some children are playing on the climber. While other children are in a grassy field trying to fly their kites.

With several attempts, the group of children finally get their kites into the air to fly. A few children stand and do a count down from ten until the kites are flying.

Everyone is having a lot of fun and taking turns to fly their kites on a warm Summer's day. What exactly does the wind do in children's learning journey? As the wind blows, how does the wind move in the air? And how do children play and explore wind strengths. A few science concepts as we explore the wind today.

As I go for a walk on a path near our family cabin I hear many birds singing in the trees. The wind is cool, it is gently blowing the leaves around in the air.

The tree leaves are starting to change color. 

Some of the leaves are still green. Chlorophyll helps the trees and plants turn sunlight into food. While the other leaves have changed colors from green, to yellow, to red and orange. 

Xanthophyll which is the yellow color in 

leaves can be found in beech, ash, birch, 

aspen and oak trees.

The red color in changing leaves is called anthocyanin. This red color happens once chlorophyll breaks down.
