There was once a boy named Trevor.
All he could say was, “NEVER EVER.”
As soon as he woke,
He showered and soaked.
Warm water was his favorite pleasure.
Once the shower is done,
There is no more time for fun.
Now is the time to get ready.
“Time is up!” Mommy yells.
“Time for school!” Daddy says,
“Come my little jewel!”
His parents hurried him away.
Trevor kisses his cat on the head.
“I’m off to school, to prove I rule!
But I wish I could stay home with you instead.”
Driven to school, it was impossible for him to prove that he ruled.
When his older brothers took up so much room.
His oldest brother drove,
His other brother drove him mad.
It was just another day,
But leaving his cat made him sad.
He thought, bring her!
She needs school more than me!”
It isn’t fair! What do I care?
For science, and math, and PE?
School will NEVER EVER be for me!”
It was different at school, with the other kids there.
As soon as the car stopped, he ran to his friends without a care.
This was the moment that didn’t compare.
“Trevor, play with us!”
“Trevor, come here!”
So he played on until the bell rung,
Then there was no more time for fun.
Trevor thought, “No more!
NEVER EVER again will I go to class!
This is so unfair!”

But Trevor thought to himself,
Trevor's friends went to class,
His brothers did too..
"This is not what I'm going to do!

Without thinking twice he grabbed his backpack and lunch,
Sprinting fast

He ran away from the rest of the bunch

When he got to the woods,
At first
he breathed a sigh of relief.
He didn't have to go to class,
He was happy at last!

But this feeling was brief,
his backpack caught on a leaf
He couldn't see.

He struggled to turn, caught his foot on a rock, and went down as hard as could be.

After some time had passed, Trevor got up at last.
He looked around with shock and amazement

He arrived in a jungle!
No people, no cars, no pavement!

Where was he?
How did he get here?
How can he get back?
All of these questions Trevor didn't care to ask.

He wasn't in class,

He felt free as a bird,
Trevor was very happy at last,
Until he heard what he heard...

A sound not from a bird!!

A BIG Animal came roaring past.

From out of a brush, a cheetah came in a rush,
and knocked Trevor down again.

"Child, how dare you enter my home!
And you came here all alone?!
With no chaperone?!?
Now you will be dinner for myself and my family alone
Trevor lay there in shock..

Did that Cheetah just TALK?!?
Trevor lay there confused.

But the cheetah didn't miss a beat,
pulled him away by his pant leg
just like another piece of meat.

She said, "You're coming with me!"

Trevor screamed with fright as he was dragged into a cave

He saw a group of tiny cheetah kittens there and tried not to stare, but so scared to be eaten Trevor cried out:
"I'm a boy, you can't eat me! I've always wanted to meet a cheetah, and this is how you greet me?!"

The cheetahs looked at the boy in a daze.
They had never heard a boy speak!
He seemed so scared and little,
so unassuming and meek.

"We can't eat him, mom! This can't be his end, he will be our friend!"
And Trevor thought, "if they let me live, NEVER EVER will I say NEVER EVER again!"

And eventually, for her children,
Mama Cheetah decided to let this tense moment end.
Together, they spent all day playing in the bright light Until Trevor forgot his terror and fright.
