Once upon a time, there was a girl.
Her name was Mirina.
She was 8 years old
and she loved to play outside.
There was a forest right behind her house and she was in there all the time.

She loved to chase squirrels and rabbits and butterflies.
She loved to climb trees, and
liked to lift rocks to see what crawled under.
One morning she woke up to see the sky dark grey.
Storm was coming.
Mommy said to stay home that day.
She couldn’t go to the forest.
Mommy promised that
after the storm passed,
she would be able to go.

She was looking out the window at the sky.
It was not raining yet.

She went downstairs and
looked out the kitchen door.
It was not raining yet.
She went out to the backyard.
It was not raining yet.

She wanted to see where the rain was.
She walked a little bit toward the forest.
No rain yet.
She walked a little more.
And little more.
And little more.
Before she realized,
she was at the forest.
It was so quiet.
Are the animals hiding before the storm?
Mirina went in a little further.
The forest was so dark.
And silence was covering the forest...
Until it happened.
ZAP!
The forest was very bright for an instant!
Lightning!
Mirina turned to run back home.
The storm was coming!
But she stopped.
She listened to the silence again.
Until...
ZAP!
