Madilyn lived in a very small town, where she knew everyone. It was her first day of second grade and she was excited to see all her classmates.

When Madilyn walked into class, she knew everyone expect a girl that seemed to be new to the school. Madilyn noticed that she sat in the back of the class. She was as quiet as a mouse with a smile on her face.

The teacher told the students to introduce themselves at the front of the class. Madilyn went first, she told the class her name was "Madilyn" and talked about the things she did that summer. The last to introduce themselves was the new student and Madilyn was excited to get to know her.

The new student walked up to the class and spoke very softly. She said her name was "Allie", and struggled to say what she did that summer. Madilyn noticed that she was stuttering when she spoke.

All the students started giggling at Allie. Allie walked back to her seat quickly and sat down. Madilyn noticed that Allie was very upset about the way the other students were laughing at her.

It was time for recess and Madilyn thought it was the perfect time to talk to Allie. When Madilyn walked outside, she noticed the kids were still laughing at Allie and teasing her.
