The story tells as about a kid named Axel who lives with his uncle prof. Otto Lidenbrock in Hamburg, Germany. Otto is expert in geology, he is 50 years old and very adventurous. Axel like him very much.

In may 1863 Otto started to read an old Runic book. Runic is an old language from Iceland. 

He found a parchment in the book and wanted to find out what is written in this  Runic massage. Axel looked at the massage and understood it was a code.

Axel asked Otto where Sneffels Yokul is and Otto said it is a volcano in Iceland. The massage was from a famous scientist named Saknussemm that tells them they can go to the center of the earth through the volcano. 

They went to Iceland and with a local guide named Hans they started the adventure. 

They went through the dark volcano and saw three holes, they went to the third tunnel, found water and than started to walk inside the center of the earth.

They see sea monsters down there, clouds, lightning and even huge mushrooms and trees. They built a raft that took them on the special sea and also met huge prehistoric man. They saw fantastic sights ad than they found a knife that was belong to Saknussemm. They understood that this is the way out. Through another volcano they erupted out from the canter of the earth and found them self back in Italy. Prof Otto became famous and wrote books about this special journey.
